Exact same question as the BOS-VAN thread...who would you pick?
Assume BOTH teams are 100% healthy and at full strength. That means Crosby, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Letang, etc... are all playing at full strength.

Detroit's road record (16-17-1) is the reason I went with Pittsburgh. But, it would definitely be close.

The BOS/VAN thread assumed both teams were at full health, which I don't think many people noticed.

Pittsburgh if Crosby is playing, Detroit if Crosby's out. They have nearly the same record with Crosby missing the whole year. Detroit also relies heavily on being at home.

Pittsburgh is probably the best team in the league when healthy. Pittsburgh has a great home and away record.

I'll say the Wings even if Crosby is healthy.

Assuming Sid is back and healthy, I'll take the Pens. Their defense has become comparable, their goaltending is more proven, and they have the best offense.
Really hoping for a 3rd go. Winner takes all muah

Well, all they'd have to do is shut down Malkin and the Wings would win it handily since Crosby isn't there to run wild like Malkin did in 09.

If the Wings are healthy I'll take them.
If Cleary was 100% healthy he would be a huge difference maker compared to what he is now. If Bertuzzi and Zetterberg were not constantly nursing injuries and Lidstrom, Datsyuk (been nursing knee injury for most of the year) and Howard were 100%, it has to be them. Otherwise, it's a very close call.

I think Detroit might be the only team capable of having their top 2 centers somewhat contain both Crosby and Malkin. If both teams are completely healthy it's a 7 game series. Flip a coin as to who wins.
If Crosby is out, Detroit in 6 (assuming Datsyuk, Lidstrom, and Howard are healthy.)

The West is much more of a grind than the East which would put Pittsburgh at an advantage (see: '09 Finals).
Whoever stays the healthiest would win.

Pens. A healthy Crosby, and you could make an argument for this team being better than the one that beat Detroit.

Boston, Philly, and NY are much more of a grind than the west. Other than St. Louis, the top western teams are soft in comparison.

They are both very excellent teams. I'd say Detroit if Crosby isn't in.

Neither is Lidstrom, or Howard.
I would say Pens.
