Why does everyone believe you need to fight after a clean hit? The wings should lose one of their best defenders because other teams players can't keep there head up?

Unlike someone like Stevens, Kronwall’s game isn’t entirely centered around playing tough and physical.
I doubt Kronwall cares very much if other players are judging him. He plays within the rules.
I just find it funny how Emelin plays a similar style, maybe to a lesser degree, yet he also is expected to answer the bell. Though Emelin has a medical excuse not to fight, people are still demanding that he answers the call (the Ryan Malone incident)
After Kronwall lays someone out, sometimes there are players who try to jump him. The Wings get a power play whenever this happens because Kronwall doesn't fight, and the Wings don't need their #3 in the box for 5 minutes.
Your player gets layed out, and you get a penalty. Is it worth it over what's usually a clean hit?

I find it funny how only Detroit and Swedish fans are backing up Kronwall. While I admire Detroit for their skill, arguably my second favorite team, Kronwall is a *****. Don't make it sound like he's squeaky clean with his jumping hits and head shots. If he's gonna play that way, grow and pair and man up to the **** he puts on the ice.
I see him as the modern day Ulf. Probably will get his turn someday.

why should Kronwall fight emotional scrubs that take offense to his legal hits?
so he can feel tough and go sit in the box for 5 minutes? that's not how you win hockey games

Then you don't know much about Ulf, or Kronwall. Probably both.

I find it funny that everyone crying would take Kronwall on their team in a heartbeat.
I can't wait to hear the answers why they wouldn't want Kronwall on their team.

Ulf fought more, which is pretty embarassing for Kronwall. More gutless than the guy who's name is synonymous with gutlessness 15 years after he retired. Never thought I'd see the day that Detroit fans embraced their very own Claude Lemieux, except of the more frightened and weak-willed variety.
In related news, it was just announced Clutterbuck has had his 5th concussion in 1 year since that Binghamton psycho took him out on purpose when he clocked someone without checking to see who else was on the ice first. 4 of these came from payback incidents for thinking he could try and take people out then not fight. Figure he's not far away from hanging them up at this rate. {MOD} It still sucks that Dean McCammond paid the price for Cody Bass pissing off the wrong guy with his gutlessness.

Reason: ...
People seem to like Kronwall and claim he's clean until he hits one of their teams players or a player they're a fan of.
He might very well "get his" someday, and if it's by a hockey hit in similar fashion to the ones he dishes out, then I doubt you'll hear him complaining. If he get's pummeled by a goons fists though, I don't see how that's any better than a borderline or dirty hit.

I guess the NHL supports him too, considering he's never had a suspension. And basically the entire Flyers team thought his hit was clean. I love all the blind homerism, jealousy, hate, delusion... whatever you wanna call it
That was one of the worst articles I have ever had the displeasure of reading. mod edit
Firstly, I can't even begin to comprehend how one can say that Kronwall isn't a physical player outside of hitting players. That doesn't even make sense. It's illogical. I don't know what else a physical player does. He goes into corners, he clears the net, he punishes players with hits. What arbitrary line are you trying to draw?
Secondly, your comparison to Scott Stevens is even more bewildering. Call me crazy, but I never remembered Stevens as a stay at home defenceman. I don't know how 908 points in 1635 games isn't a defensman who controls the ice. I don't know how five 60+ point seasons, and a career high of 18 goals and 78 points is a game centred on being tough and physical. Kronwall is the closest comparison to Scott Stevens in our game today.
I honestly have no idea what you're even proposing with this article; this is textbook NHL hitting 101. Are you saying that Kronwall shouldn't be hitting people? Are you saying that NHL players shouldn't be responsible for ignoring the play on the ice? The idea of fighting after a clean hit is one of the areas of the game which we're trying to remove, and you're advocating it?
