Really surprised over here in NL there are not more great hockey players, they have all the attributes:
Massive people on average, seriously, the u-25 age group averages about 6'2, no kidding.
A lot of great skaters, everyone spends a months over winter on the lakes and canals, and the Netherlands always do brilliantly at speed skating.
They have one of the best field hockey teams in the world.
Love their sport, seriously fanatical, even minor sports have multi tier league systems in a country of just over 10million.
Loads of great NHL players have parents or ancestors who are dutch, Bouwmeester, Van Impe, Van Riemsdyk, the Staals, Versteeg, Beukeboom, Vanbiesbrouck, Vandemeer, Trever Linden, Karl Dykhuis, Nieuwendyk, Yzerman, Greg de Vries, Hamhuis, Heerema, Mike Van Ryn, Dan Bylsma, Jeff Friesen, Pat Verbeek...
A guy we have a high chance of drafting as well Koekoek... is dutch, means Cuckoo in dutch!
