nothing.
It was obvious last season, it's more obvious this season. Point production when paired with great players do not dictate the importance of the player to a roster (ie: Cheechoo and countless others). Parenteau is a player who can be let go and easily replaced by some second-tier UFA (or through trade).
For the money he will command, we should let him go. I do not want a top-6 of Tavares, Moulson, PAP, Okposo, Nielsen, Grabner (with Bailey on the way). That is NOT and will ever be a winning top-6.
The comfort level of status-quo that some people have here is sad sometimes. Anyone who looks remotely decent we need to lock up without any concern for future endeavors with building a complete roster. Complete is the key. This top-6 will not bring a Cup to Long Island...or anywhere they may move to.
Final Note: Nabakov is gone. You saw it in his face. Towards the end of the game he just cocked his head back and stared straight up. Unless Snow is giving him some incredible deal with years (because he doesn't need the $$$), Nabakov will be starting/backing up a Stanley Cup contending team in October.
