I was there at this snooze feat turned massacre. The best part of the night, the free Nathan's hotdogs and soda. Seriously **** this team. No playoffs in 5 years. When are we gonna demand something better?

Just got home from the game, sucked really.

Isles offense didnt do that bad setting up chances and whatnot but seriously 0 finish, only goal they got was a fluke.

Defense and nabby were both quite embarrassing

The whole team kept just slipping and falling the whole game though :/

They mailed the game in. There was no hitting. Nobody gave a Sh_T. Even Martin wasn't himself. Have a little pride Islanders!

PAP is NOT a good player. He doesnt deserve the money he'll command. He brings nothing and it's been showing the past 5-6 games especially.

Get this crap gone. He's easily replaceable

That's a really bad formula, especially for a team with a ****** defense corps.

A few quick observations:

Looking back, funny how the the first game of the year against the Panthers set the tone for the year. Lack of passion reared its ugly head a number of times this year.

As good as JT is he is not quite there yet in the top 10 of the league. Playing with one dimensional wingers hurts him too. I think one of the biggest adjustments we need to make this summer is to find a more multi-dimensional talent to replace Moulson on the first line. Until we have Moulson playing second line we are not a top team.

If Strome is ready for next year I'd love to see him playing with JT and either Martin or Nino. Next year might well be a one step back to take two steps forward year. Much of the Top 6 this year has peaked or plateaued. Some of them need to be playing third line next year or traded for other pieces.

What a mistake it was not to trade PA and Nabby when their value was highest. We are not going to make noise this year. I can't believe Chicago wouldn't have offered one good prospect for the pair or a first for both of them. They have both played very well but they are not the future here. Now we lose them both. PA will get a bigger offer than we are going to pay and Nabby will likely finally join Detroit over the summer as he first wanted to.

As part of the one step back for two steps forward strategy we need to let either Nilsson or Poulin team with Montoya to start the year. This way the other gets most of the time in Bridgeport. Koskinen stays in Finland for the full year.

Make a big push to get Anders Lee to Bridgeport next year and Nelson the year after. Lee looks like he will be a better pro than a college player because his physicality fits the pro game better. Nelson is going to be AT LEAST an excellent second line wing. Lee will have to find his niche, which might be power play specialist.

If the top 3 forwards are taken we draft the best defenseman left. If Galchenyuk is available it depends on where we are. If we are drafting 8-10 (a long shot but still possible) we can't pass him up. I think we could trade Okposo for a decent d-man to play on the second pair. Either Katic, Ness, DeHaan or Donovan can play bottom pair or why did we draft them?

Again, next year is a transition year as we weed out the players that got us to about .500 in favor of those that will take us the next step.

I was also at the game with my daughter. My first time at the rock and what a disappointment the game was if you're an Islanders fan. But the building is amazing! I was shocked to discover that the food and soft drinks were free, but I am a firm believer of "no such thing as a free lunch" - I bet the fans are paying for it through the ticket prices.

My first time too. Lots of Isles fans there and nothing to cheer for. Even the one goal was pathetic. Just the whole game was pathetic.

You must have sat in the club section. There's two of them, the Fire Lounge and the Ice Lounge. Both located in the center ice regions of the lower bowl.

The face value of those tickets are upwards of $250. The buffet is pretty awesome though but its definitely geared towards more of a corporate crowd than a casual fan.

Building is really nice! Awesome to have a place you can truly call your own with all the Devils stuff all over the wall and all of the jerseys from every HS ice hockey team hung up.

He is more physical than most on our roster, but even his physical play isn't enough to warrant future tenure on the Island. If Tavares isn't on his game, and he's tiring out, Parenteau generates nothing.

It was obvious last season, it's more obvious this season. Point production when paired with great players do not dictate the importance of the player to a roster (ie: Cheechoo and countless others). Parenteau is a player who can be let go and easily replaced by some second-tier UFA (or through trade).

For the money he will command, we should let him go. I do not want a top-6 of Tavares, Moulson, PAP, Okposo, Nielsen, Grabner (with Bailey on the way). That is NOT and will ever be a winning top-6.

The comfort level of status-quo that some people have here is sad sometimes. Anyone who looks remotely decent we need to lock up without any concern for future endeavors with building a complete roster. Complete is the key. This top-6 will not bring a Cup to Long Island...or anywhere they may move to.

Final Note: Nabakov is gone. You saw it in his face. Towards the end of the game he just cocked his head back and stared straight up. Unless Snow is giving him some incredible deal with years (because he doesn't need the $$$), Nabakov will be starting/backing up a Stanley Cup contending team in October.

Anyone who gives PA more than a 3 years deal at 3-4 million per is out of their minds...He's a nice player who fits in well here but he is not worthy of some of the numbers some people would like to see thrown at him...

...and I hope for Nabby's sake he gets the **** out of here while he still has a chance to win with a real organization. He deserves a hell of a lot better than this ****.
