Congrats Kessel on first 70 point season!

Kessel with his goal and assist last night get's his 70th point of the season. First time hitting 70.

Last 70 pt guy we had was Sundin in 07-08. From 95 to 08 he got 70+ points.

EDIT: Read the OP no where did I say he got his 70th tonight.

70 points and 62 even strength goals against (according to one of the talking heads tonight).

yipeee.

really though. i'll be happy for him at the end of the season when i see how many points he'd end up with. no use celebrating every 10 or 5 points. what's next? congrats for 75? 80?

blah

16 games left. 80 pts doesn't seem out of the question. With a distant long shot at 90 pts.

everyone talking smack about kessel defensively that`s what you expect from pure scorers..they float around the blue line and take advantage of loose pucks while saving their energy..anyways its a team effort defensively and our team just simply sucks ass

Should subtract the goals he's directly caused from his totals and find the result. He can score, but that's about all he's good for.

Softest player in the league. /rant

But good on him for getting personal results in this team sport!

Good for Kessel, he's taking great strides this year to become the player we all want him to be. The past couple of games he has seem tentative at times but he's still putting up the points so he's helping in some way.

I guarantee nobody has a lower "winning the puck battle" percentage over the same period of time either.

He's scared to get hit, doesnt really fight for the puck... and the odd time he does show emotion he waves his stick around like an axe hacking guys - and gets a penalty
