#66 - 03.08.2012 | New York Rangers @ Ottawa Senators | 7:30 PM - MSG
THE MATCHUP
GAME #66
March 8th, 2012
@
(42-16-7)
_________ (35-25-8)
7:30 PM ET
SCOTIABANK PLACE - OTTAWA, CANADA
MSG | SNET-E
QUOTES TO NOTE
The Devils hated us tonight. They wanted to kill us and we need to match that. In stretches we did, but we need to take a look in the mirror.
- Brian Boyle
This might be a good wakeup call. We’re not where we need to be or want to be.
- Brad Richards
I thought we gathered ourselves in the 2nd period after just a ********* 1st, then just some details, some turnovers were just ridiculous, it cost us a game in the 3rd.
- John Tortorella

Hopefully those 3 poorly-played games are in the rear view mirror and this team plays a complete game tomorrow. Expecting a full 60 minute effort.
LET'S GO RANGERS!!
EDIT- Nearly lol'd at Bishop's picture.

The forward lines were taken from the NYR@NJ recap on NYR.com, so probably not. Couldn't find any practice lines from today other than Stralman practicing with DZ again.

Pens 6 points back...this is a HUGE game
2 more before a 7 game home streak where the Rangers need to do serious damage to stay atop the east here.

What a weird picture of Bishop. It looks like it's from a yearbook or something.

Biron will play.
I like Anisimov-Stepan-Hagelin and Cally-Richards-Gaborik. Might as well give Richards and Gaborik a look together and I've been curious about those lines for a while.

Sore schnauze
On another note, please keep it simple. Not messy turnovers all over the ice like some peewee team. We need some defensive stability back.

Torts needs to keep McD and Girardi's icetime down. Get MDZ and Stralman over 20 minutes and let Staal play 25. I'd rather go into the playoffs as the 4 seed with a rested defense than as a #1 seed with a god-awful defense.

I'm a wide-eyed optimist and always figure the Rangers are going to win.
Unless they play like they have the last few games. I hope they spent every hour since the Devils loss in the hyperbaric chamber, getting oxygen to their tired muscles, but more importantly to their impaired brains.
Make no mistake, this is an important game. It all depends on the approach. If top guys get less TOI, and it shows, I am okay with that.
As long as they stop all the lousy, stupid giveaways and at least establish a forecheck and play Rangers hockey, I will be happy.

great watch him get his first career.. i can see the interview already
play a simple game and stay out of the box unless its defending a teammate. they do have some grit in Neil Greening Smith and Konopka
