Canucks have been playing terrible defense the last few games. If you guys got any finish you should be able to take this. I'm sure we'll be playing lethargic while you guys will be buzzing around. Hope I'm wrong, but lately it's seem we haven't been playing with any will lately.
If we are able to scrape together 2 points tonight, and the Sabres, Caps and Florida all crumble I might go into a joy-induced coma. With any luck, i'll be on a respirator at Victoria General this time tomorrow.
According to the SportsClubStats web site, clean wins over Vancouver and Calgary increase our chances of making the playoffs to 67.3% (subject to minor ups and downs based on the results of the other games).
On the other hand, clean losses over the next two nights and our chances of making the playoffs are down to 30%.
These games are HUGE!!!
Actually it doesn't matter that much if the wins are clean or in OT. Regulation losses would be devistating.
Hope the Jets show up to play today! A win tonight would be huge, Canucks are slumping somewhat. I used to not mind the Canucks until the VAN-LAK series a couple of years, now with Lapierre and Rome on the team, two of my most hated players, and Roberto "Greg L" Luongo in net, yeah they are pretty far up my hated list for teams. This win would put us into a tie for 1st in the SouthEast. Go JETS!!!
I look at tonight as a bit of a no lose situation for us or at least the upside on this game is much greater than the downside. When we look at the last 9 road games most people (even the optimists) would assume this game is a clean loss. If that happens tonight we will turn the page and get ready for Calgary and know that a team with 90 points broke out of their slump and did to us what they have done to everyone this year. However on the flip side if we were to come out of this game with 1, or lord help us 2 points it would be huge. I know the Canucks are in a mini slump and or are preserving mental and physical energy for the long playoff run so maybe we get lucky and that slump extends for one more game . Either way I believe a win is away bigger deal for us than a loss is tonight.
Crazy night all in all. I have the centre ice package and could go crazy channel surfing on the early games but I think I am going to spend time with the family up until 9:00pm then tune into the Jets game and try not to scream at the TV if things are going badly.
im looking forward to this one!! gonna be one of the good ones this season i think. these 9pm starts are why im against being in a "northwest" type of conference in the future. 4-3 Jets tonight!!!
The Jets are motivated to prove that they can be successful on the road, while the Canucks are eager to correct the ship and get back to their winning ways.
I think this will be a tight game that goes to OT.
TSN-Jets has the crowd noise severely turned down - you're really missing the ambience.
This was really hammered home watching the goal highlights from the NBC Sports broadcast last week of Jets vs Sabres.
They have to change that.
On the TSN Jets feed I can hear what is happening on the ice, hear the fans, and jar the announcers fine.
I really don't need the fan noise to be increased just so I can say, wow it sure is loud. We know it is loud.

Is it game time yet? One good thing - will be able to see a good chunk of the other important Eastern Conference games before the Jets - Canucks tilt. Such an important game tonight, for many reasons. Shed the "bad road team" image (4-3 in last 7 is at least getting respectable), and playing one of the premiere teams in the league. Will be interesting to see how the recent good play of the Jets will match up against the SC finalist.
