****. That's what we get for shuttin it down late in the 3rd. Great first start for Tokarski. This game would have been long over if Roli was in.

Boucher gets most of the blame for this OT loss. No reason to sit back in the 3rd after playing strong for the first 2 periods. Just awful coaching.

What a joke... Caps luck out again. Play really sloppy all game, hook/hold/obstruct constantly. Ovechkin has his usual terrible game, but will end up the 'hero'.

Just awful.

Whatever... Great game by Tic. Definitely can't hang this on him, he got us a point. Our D-zone **** needs to stop... each of the three goals happened when we just couldn't clear the zone after we had control of the puck. Two of them in bone-headed ways. Play smarter guys, and we get two points that game.

The main good thing coming out of this season is the departure of Brett "I'm a ****ing pylon" Clark

Just a couple of observations from me on tonight's game:

1. Great game, starting to feel like playoff hockey.

2. Good game for Tokarski. Could have ended better but it's not his fault. Good saves in the 3rd and OT.

3. I hate the 1-3-1. We didn't get a shot until 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd. Boucher went into prevent defense in the 3rd and let the Capitals blast Tic. It became only a matter of time, seemed like we didn't even try to score until they tied it.

Just 3 SOG in the 3rd (0 until they tied it) and 0 SOG in OT...

The 1-3-1 doesn't have to be so passive. We weren't keeping them from entering our zone and then when they were in our zone we let them stay for awhile, so the players were gassed by the time they got out. It's not the fault of the 1-3-1 per se, but rather our really ****** D-zone coverage.

Still, Tic stood tall in there. Small sample size, but if he keeps up this level of play, I wouldn't be against a Tic-Garon combo next season. Maybe he can make SFY's decision easier in the offseason.

Great game for Tic, though. He looked great but needs to work on positioning more.

Florida got whooped 5-0 and the Sabres lost 3-1. Jets playing in Vancouver. Should have won this in regulation but whatever so we gain SOME ground. Thanks for the point Dustin.

This is what happens when you put a solid goalie behind our awful 3/4 D. Brewer and Clark were atrocious, Hedman still making weaksauce plays to the opponent rather than being poised and making good decisions. Auger...nothing more needs to be said about him.

Green should have been wtf-wrecked at some point for that cheap as **** headshot on Connolly.

I don't like sitting back and defending a 1 goal lead like we did but given the personnel I understand why Boucher opted to do so.

The real problem is: We can't clear the puck no matter what. That was just pathetic. Always looking for some unnecessary extra pass or a fancy play. And even when we had the chance to just send it out to get a little breather we failed miserably fanning on pucks and whatnot.

So I get home just in time to see the last minute or so of OT. I see a great save from Tokarski and then I see him falling down in the crease twice and after Ovi buries the GWG he seems to be pretty slow skating to the bench. Did he appear hurt to anyone else?

Glad he had a decent game, too bad they tied it late and Ovi woke up.

He's playing his worst hockey in a Lightning jersey lately but to be fair, if it wasn't for him blocking 3 shots in 10 seconds earlier in the 3rd it would've been over in regulation.

Yeah, he and Brewer have a running competition each game to see how well they can imitate pylons. Edge to Clark because he tosses in the added value of blind limp wristed turnovers at his own blue line.

What's there to be fair about in a must win game. He made two bad plays in the matter of seconds to give the Caps the win.

Tokarski showed pretty good positioning from what I can see, great reflexes and good composer out there.

The Bad: His shot recovery if really really horrible. Also when he goes down, he needs to work on getting back up more often. Ive seen it a couple of times when he went down in a butterfly and then waited a second or two for them to take a shot.

Overall a wonderful showing for our 22 year old netminder. Can't wait to watch him again!
