Trap it, collapse inward and counter on turnovers -- old school, dead puck era Ruff hockey. Basically what we've seen for some time now. This is their third game in four nights, they may want to get up a little early with all of what it implies.

And yes. Poke that bear. Poke it hard.

Staying withe "The Shining" references:

"I'm not gonna hurt ya Milan, I'm just gonna bash your brains in."

Alas, a Lucic with a bashed in brain is still not enough advantage to overcome the bear; 5-2 Bruins.

Eh, I don't see it getting away from them that much. As Chainshot posted above, I expect a defensive effort. I would think a one or two goal differential with one being an empty netter. 3-2 either way.

Now would be a good time for Stafford to get a hatty, and that line to start finding the back of the net.

Great GDT, one of the best I have seen in a while.

Should be a good game, should see old Marty Turco on the bench for the first time in a Bruins uniform.

Thomas has been letting in 3 goals or more lately, so this could be a shootout or as you guys have been 7-1-2 in your last 10, the Sabre's could steal this game.

Rock and roll boys.

Added one more A/V link to OP:No confirmation on Miller or Enroth yet; I'm still expecting it to be Miller once again.

I sort of think that if they get one, they're gonna go on a tear. CoHo's play hasn't been as good the past 2 games as it was the previous 3, but he's still creating chances and had a couple good shots last night. Ennis has been buzzing for a while, and Staff has had some good opportunities lately too

Cody McCormick has been cleared to play, could play tonight - Sekera still out with flu. --^ks

I don't know who you'd sit. Tropp has been playing well enough. I would think McCormick sits, but maybe Ruff wants more physicality for the Bruins and pulls out Boyes or Ellis or something.

Cody > Ellis, especially for a game like this. Is Sulzer the kind of guy that will get physical if that's what this game shifts into?

Lindy Ruff audio: Sekera out for Sabres, McCormick cleared to play:
Quote:
The Sabres will again turn to newcomer Alexander Sulzer on defense tonight against Boston, with blue-liner Andrej Sekera sidelined by flu-like symptoms. Sekera did not even make the trip to Boston with the Sabres but could join the team in Ottawa if his health improves.

Forward Cody McCormick, who has been sidelined by a concussion, has been cleared to play. The tough winger will take part in the pregame warm-up against the Bruins in TD Garden but is likely to sit.

Jochen Hecht, who also has a concussion, has "good days and bad days," according to coach Lindy Ruff. It remains unlikely the 34-year-old will return this season.

Doesn't it always seem that these guys suffer setbacks, are out for weeks with no info, then magically, they're ready to go?

Paul Hamilton hinting that it might be Enroth, but nothing official.

okay tonight around the League

we would prefer if Tampa Bay beats Washington and no OT

we want the nucks to beat Winnipeg and since the Jets are on the road theres a good chance of that

That'd be Lindy in a nutshell. Your next game is against a team whom Enroth is 2-0-1 with a .955 SV% this year. Last night's game was against a team whom Enroth is 2-0-0 with a 0.49 GAA and a .986 SV% in his career. Naturally, Lindy would start Enroth tonight against Boston; Jhonas' career numbers against Boston suck: 0-2-1, 4.78 GAA, .871 SV%. Miller has a .957 SV% against Boston this year, too.

If true, Lindy is an idiot.

Honestly I'd rather have Washington win but it doesn't matter, no OT is what counts. I'd rather have the home team win (Washington) and cool off the hotter team (TB). Just get our points and let the rest take care of itself.

If Enroth plays tonight, it is for only one reason in my opinion: Ruff wants to shield Miller from the Bruins and the press who would be grilling him about the Lucic incident, how it has impacted the Sabres year so far, what it's like to return to Boston after the incident, etc.

Ruff knows Miller is a bit of a head case and he wants to shield his fragile ego so Miller can stay in his groove of late.

If my theory is correct, that's sad. That means the Bruins kind of own us worse than I already thought.

Not much of a sample size there.

Basically half of Enroth's career numbers against Carolina and Ottawa come from games played in the midst of his huge hot streak last year, when the team as a whole was also playing very well.

That doesn't translate to Enroth matching up well against those teams specifically.

Wow. No, its not. Look at the rest of the schedule. Our next back-to-back isn't until late March. We ride Miller for those non-B2B games starting in OTT until the first game in the B2B. March 23/24 I think, Rags/Wild.
