Seriously, Patty is top-10 in the league in points? Where the hell did this season come from?
He's been a tad streaky, but when he's "on" this year, he's been dominant. That vision, those hands....neither are going away anytime soon. Not to mention his speed is still decent.
He'll have 1k+ points (all as a devil) and his jersey hanging in the rafters one day...

Not to focus on the negative but what the hell was Brodeur doing on that goal against? Really should have gotten back into some sort of position quicker.
Either way fun game to be at especially when taking my Islander friend.
Funny thing is the Penguins are the only team we've beaten at home on afternoon games this year I think, and we've beaten them twice. I think they might be the only team we've beaten at home on a weekend this year too.

Oh well. Only person he hurt with it was himself, and his chance of a shut out.
I'm still riding high, that was the first hat trick I've ever seen live in 15-16 years (Jesus). That was one of the most dominating performances I've witnessed from a single player. I tell you what, with the mentality Kovy has now in being responsible while now shooting the lights out, he may very well be entering permanent beast mode. I hope he keeps this torrid pace up through the end of the season.
Also, I think this was one of the best games Larsson has had since his return. He looked much better and made some very good plays with the puck.
I've been pretty impressed with Marty lately. This time last year he had 5 shutouts I think plus only like 2 or 3 games where he only gave up one goal. Maybe 4 even I forget.
This year he only has 1 shutout, but I'm pretty sure this was 14th 1 goal game of the season. A couple of them weren't winners like the Rangers, and Islanders shutouts in the last week, and that shootout loss to Buffalo when Ryan Miller decided to join us back on down on earth. What a fluke goal that was that night? Talk about a lucky bounce.
That's 3 games in a row now where he's only allowed one goal. Pretty impressive. I'll take 3 games in a row of one goal over a shutout, and 2 games giving up two or three goals each. The Brodeur critics are seeing his shutout, and save percentage. He had some horrible games early in the season, and those blowouts like Colorado, and Boston put a big dent in his GAA, and save percentage. He was at a 3 GAA earlier this season, and has now dropped below 2.5. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

I like to think that having Sykora back is at least partially the cause of this late-career resurgence for Patty.

I hope we see this Kovy in the playoffs. He could carry us to a series victory damn near by himself if he plays like this.
Elias still did well with the line with Kovy when he was playing with them for a while. Not so much in goals, but still producing assists. He seems to be good with assists this year no matter who he plays with. PP, and shorthanded goals too.
Though I like having Sykora, and I hope Lou re signs him. None of this ''We need to break them up, and what they can do without each other'' like when he traded Arnott, and then Sykora away. Different time now, and it's too good right now for thinking that way. Even if it means giving Sykora a raise. I'm all for it. I don't see why he can't get a million. He's certainly more than a $650k grand player. Who is getting less than him? Boulton, and Janssen? I think the rookies, and guys on their first contracts are making more.
Sad I missed this game cause I was busy but great to see Kovy and co. doing well and trucking along getting points.
Keep it going, big weeks coming up against teams and 4 point games. That back to back with the Rags and Sens is awhile off but that looks like a big 2 day stretch.
