If you run that stat for most players with > 20 goals, I'll bet you generally see a similar positive result. Probably not as solid at 19 - 4, but the point is, since you're starting the conversation at "scoring a goal", you're already starting the data in a winning direction.
and that's what I did wrong, held it by the brim and over handed it instead of as a ball. Hence the quick drop. oh well. Hopefully somebody will give me a chance to redeem on st patricks' day.
Well, **** dude, if you throw it like that, you gotta frisbee it...
With numbers like that, I'd be more impressed if there's a player who is scoring more often in losses. That would be pretty unlucky. Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Larsson, whose two goals have both come in losses.
Yeah, that makes it less bat**** crazy, but it's still very unlikely. I'll go with 35.
EDIT: I'd much rather see Clarkson get hot, plus add 2 or 3 ENG, and somehow pass Gaborik. That would make my stomach hurt for days from laughing so hard.
I know its next to impossible, but how about we make everyone happy. Get Kovy at/just short of 40, and get Clarkson enough to pass Gaborik. Both scoring more than him would be wonderful. And Parise too for good measure. Although... to make this happen I think that would mean those 3 needs to score 95% of the Devils remaining goals this season. Unless this team is going to put up 5 a game the rest of the way
hahaha, yes, the elusive female hockey fan. there should be a discovery special on us.
Never knew you were a female. Only one I know of is cj.
There's probably others here as well that I don't know about either.

One thing I remember about that season was there were so many games where we had 2 different 2 goal scorers. Turner Stevensen got a lot of his goals in pairs that season in the same night, and I remember one night I think where Elias, Arnott, and Sykora all got 2 goals each.
Everyone remembers the Madden/Mckay one!
I am not as bitter about that season's result now as I was then. I mean it was Patrick *** Roy after all. However, the only thing that annoyed me is Ray *** Bourque basically getting a free ride to a Stanley Cup. Grrrrrrr.....

I know about "buy low, sell high" and all that, but Clarkson is a pretty rare commodity. He can score and fight. As pure enforcers get phased out, you need the Clarkson type of player. They are even more rare in the league than pure goal scorers. I don't mean to say that they are that valuable, but they are a rare asset, and should generally be held onto, unless the return is completely exorbitant.
I agree, but I also think Toronto's #1 in 2012 would be "completely exorbitant".

Agree with this too. Lou's philosophy has always been to improve the team immediately, not subtract a little to add a lot in 3 years.

Yup, that's what I figured.
