More marketing potential: Wayne Simmonds vs. Pernell Karl Subban

These are two of the best young black players that can potentially reach out to a certain audience. Who has the more potential to be marketed league-wide?

Assume these two players will not be traded, will not hit free agency and will never change positions.

Wasn't there another "marketing them because they're black" thread/poll made last week that didn't end well?

That thread only pertained to Atlanta as a hockey market (before Winnipeg landed the Thrashers); this time around it's about league-wide marketing.

More racism potential: math radio or mathradio?

Surprised this isn't a more horrible black player thread.

When you put it that way it carries a connotation that one would intend to exploit either of these two because of their race. If either person would come to their marketing departments and say, "hey I want to help and I could reach out to certain people because of how I would be able to relate to me" it would go over better.

For example Wayne Simmonds, as seen on 24/7, volunteers to help out inner city kids who want to play hockey. If the Flyers org pushed him to do so specifically because he is black, can'o'worms.

I see no point in making "More horrible player" polls with players at different positions.

In the other marketing poll with Subban in it (and that had forwards), there were those posters who said that forwards are more easily marketable than D-men.

We haven't seen the best of neither player yet... perhaps Byfuglien would be a better choice than Simmonds!

Simmonds because he plays in a big American market.

Simmonds, plays rough and in-your-face style of hockey, is fearless and I don't see it completely out of the realm of possibility that he could one day pot a few 30 goal seasons.

Simmonds is a potential 30-goal scorer, with a flashy style not unlike Subban's (but I don't know how much of a pest Simmonds can be) while Subban plays as the Habs' #1 D-man right now.

Why wouldn't they just combine Subban's hits and his skating prowess with that of Simmond's hits and ferocity ?

Do a thing where Simmonds goes in, drills someone, gets the puck and passes it off, then it cuts to Subban on a rush with his great skating, deking a few people before passing off to Kane who rips it home with a great wrister.
