More NHLers head to the RSL. Already Korneev will be losing ice time to these scabs, now Alexi Yemelin could suffer the same fate, as Kondratiev of the Rangers is going to leave the Wolfpack and play for Lada. As the youngest player on the team, ice time was hard to come by for Yemelin to start with, so perhaps he could end up back in the High league.

Unfortunately Dan, thing will only get worse instead of better. This lockout will put some young players behind the eight ball in their development...bigtime.
If those players (like Yemelin) get enough ice-time....they could surpass the actual NHL players (ok, I'm dreaming here) or at least get some quality ice time with good players and therefore get better, faster.
Another point of view is that if the RSL gets better and pushes Yemelin off the roster, he'll get more ice time in the High League (Ice time is never bad I'd say) and the competition in the High League, by the fact so many players that should be in RSL would play in High League, would be much higher....so that would make like a middle league that would be a little jump from the old (last year) High League and another little jump will be required to get into the RSL.....instead of a huge jump that would be more direct....

Hope someone understands hehe
Yes, I understand. In short, with the flurry of NHLers going to the RSL, the quality of the players being send down to the High league are superior, similar to the AHL/ECHL situation here in America. Yemelin had a hard time getting ice time in the RSL and will probably enjoy plently of minutes at the High league level. The league is probably stronger than it was last year because of the lock-out so the news is not a disaster. Competition is a key factor for a player to develop.
This is great news for him, instead of being stuck on Lada's bench, he'll likely be sent to the Upper League and see a lot of minutes. That's just another way to see the situation, but ideally you want your prospects playing at a high level if they can handle it.

I don't see it as great news since he was just starting to get in a few games since coming back from the 4 nations U-20 tournament. If no more NHLers came over, he might have seen a regular spot or at least say 25+ games (he was playing about 1 every 4-5 games)
But it's not just Yemelin, who at 18 won't be hurt too much by this as he wasn't really expected to be in the RSL this year. It's more of a problem for Korneev, who at 21 has been a regular in the RSL for the last 3 seasons. It's great he'll get to play with all those NHLers since AK Bars has gone cup crazy so to speak, but once Kaspar joins the defense it should spell even less ice time as he was getting some top pairing ice time before Salei came over and now Darrius is on his way.
