You all do realize the Blues are dominating everyone right now, yes? It's not like we lost to Minnesota or Columbus. Anyone who thought this game was anything more than an OT loser point at best was delusional.

It was a 1-1 game going into the third, so it was a close game until PP's started becoming a factor. The poweplay has probably cost us five wins this season.
And Sojourn I got the number five from my ass. Still sounds about right.
perfect chance to make up ground and we did nothing. outplayed, good teams really show how weak our lineup is.
Was thinking the same thing while watching the game.
The Blues are just so much better...in almost every single way. More depth, more physicality, more skill, a young team mixed with the proper vets....most of all though they have a system that everyone has bought into. David Backes has got to be my favorite player in the NHL. Always goes to the net, but has a nose for goal scoring and is tough as nails.
Its ok...Duckies have some good prospects coming up. Our time in the sun will come again.
what. what a disappointing night. 1-1 going into the 3rd and we couldn't squeak out a point or anything.. would've been a great night to make up ground on lots of teams
Perfect opportunity to make up some ground and they couldn't even do that, our below average offense and PP once again come up short.
One loss left. It must be about time to call up some of the younger guys to see what they have to offer. Schultz could be here as early as next week right?

It's actually amazing how much games they won since Jan, as offence has been pretty much bone dry the whole time.

It's not that the Blues are so much better, the Ducks kept pace. Blues would have a 2 on 1 rush, ducks would counter with 2 on 1 rush. It was a very even game until special teams buried us again. This is so bizarre for a team that just last year was so dominant in pp but couldnt score a goal to save their life in even strength. If ducks miss the playoffs they can blame the special teams. When the opponent is 2/2 and you are 0/2...not good. Ducks need a solution to pp fast.

Not even last year. Even when we sucked we had a top 10 PP IIRC. We weren't running this asinine umbrella PP. How BB cannot see what made our PP click in years past is beyond me. STOP RUNNING THE ****ING UMBRELLA.
Well the run was good while it lasted
can't lose 4 of 6
Watching the Blues, and watching this team, you see how inferior it really is. the lack of toughness, and skilled size as well as the desire to get to the front of the net is very apparent.
hopefully we tank from here on out and get a top 5 pick, and can get Galchynuk or one of those defensemen.
Our PP is ridiculous in so many ways. Just load up the top unit dammit! Not like that will help.
You would think they would pull out some tape from last season where we had the third best PP in the league and learn from it. Fowler and Selanne are in particular being misused. The PP always worked best with Getzlaf rotating between the point and the half wall, Visnovsky at the point, Fowler roving around, Selanne hovering around the left hash marks trying to get open with Perry in front of the net.
I agree with the estimate that the PP has cost us about 5 games this year. In the last week and a bit alone it cost us this game and the Kings game. I'm not going to bother going back any further than that.

Ya, my post about 4 people above you voiced your opinion but in harsher words. So many questions regarding the PP.
Why is Getzlaf at the point?
Why no Vishnovsky?
Why is Teemu handling the damn puck so much?
Blake/Bonino? SERIOUSLY?
Umbrella...WHYYYYY?
Why the sudden emphasis on point shots?
Why even when we take point shots are they Getzlaf wristers?
Why is Fowler shooting...EVER?
