Boyes and Mason for sure.
Vinny Lecavalier had a 50 goal season that seems pretty fluky, though he got 40 the next year.
My sleeper pick is Patrick O'Sullivan. Went from 53 points to AHL regular.

This thread needs more Chris Kontos. Dude had 12 points in 6 playoff games for the Kings in 88, played only 7 games the following year, and was out of the league. Then shows up in 92-93 during Tampa's expansion year and scores 27 goals and 51 pointsi n 66 games, and never played in the NHL again...

Brad boyes shot at 21% accuracy in that 43 goal season that has been previously mentioned (207 shots). That is definitely flukey, when your career shooting average is 12%.

Not fluky at all for VL4 to get 50 goals that season. MVP line was insane that year. Injuries have derailed him a bit, thanks Cookie.

An injury shortened season that probably would have seen him hit 40. So question: If Cheechoo hit 40 that year, would he still top this list?
He also had 28 in his rookie year. Cheech was no fluke but he just broke down, poor guy.

Troy Murray. 45 goals and 99 pts in 1985-86. Next best season was 28 goals and 71 pts.

Players are entitled to having career years. I think there needs to be some sort of way to differentiate a career year from a fluke season.

Which season was the fluke? He had a pretty consistent career if you ask me. He has a career of 0.62 PPG.
96-97: 0.47
97-98: 0.55
98-99: 0.73
99:00: 0.80
00-01: 0.69
01-02: 0.73
02-03: 0.76
03-04: 0.36 <--This season sticks out, but in the opposite way.
05-06: 0.68
06-07: 0.44

Brian Boyle had some many lucky bounces for his goals last season, it's not even funny,

I find it fluky that 68-69 was the first year a player reached the 100 point mark. And 3 players accomplished this.
