Great job by the Caps Comcast crew for not showing a single replay. Good thing the other side has a voice too.

That ones is better and it shows a blatant elbow to the head.

Yikes, that was bad...he was vulnerable and he smoked him from behind into the boards AND elbowed him...

That needs to be a lengthy suspension

6-9 games IMO ,, The intent was clear and the fact is Connolly had no way to possibly defend himself

That was a dirty and predatory hit on a defenseless player. If this isn't a suspension, then Shanny has his head up his ass.

See you in a few Mike.

Just don't understand how someone who has missed all that time with a concussion himself goes out and throws a hit like that. I mean WTF are you doing?

Caps fan here....and yeah, THAT IS STUPID! You should know better for so many reasons Mike. 5+ games in my mind. Good thing Green has been garbage or he would really be missed right now.

Dangerous and totally unnecessary play. I'd be shocked if he isn't getting at least fined for this.

Its not even debatable. Connolly clearly had no way to defend himself and took a straight elbow right to the head. Green should be expecting a phone call tomorrow.

Green had ample time to slow down or hit low, he instead chose to go high and make his primary point of contact the head with his elbow leading the way. Connolly was defenseless and already being tagged along the boards. Absolutely no need for this - Green should know better considering his own concussion issues.

Looked like he crunched his head into the glass, but it was hard to tell by the angle.

Lol, inexcusable.
If Ovechkin got 3 games, this should easily be 5+. How can a person suffering head injuries make a hit like that is beyond me

Six games. Green's been suspended for an elbow to the head before. That was bad

Should be a suspension imo but this is interesting;

Erik Erlendsson ‏@erlendssontrib
Connolly called hit by Green a hockey play, said he put himself in a vulnerable position

He's a Lightning beat writer.

That looks really bad to me. Why is he trying to elbow Connolly when the Caps player has already pinned him to the boards? Reckless and unnecessary.

Gotta be 3-5, that was dangerous and boneheaded. He's lucky he didn't get a major on the play and screw his team over.

That hit must have been even worse than it looked, Connolly is still out of this world.

Check him for a concussion again if that's what he said.

Pretty much all players take the high road when asked about stuff like that. They keep it on the ice and behind the doors. No point in whining to the press.
