When do we start rolling with the King?

At some point they need to just roll with Henrik..... You know to get his rythym going for the playoffs.

Right?

i think at this point the most biron will be seeing is starting 1 of the 2 back to back games we have left, maybe one more start the most? i believe this is the point of the season where torts wants to use hank more to have him ready to go for april.

apparently never. Torts feels like he has to play him every other game. this whole team needs to step up other teams know they can beat us now we gotta work to regain that fear.

You cant really "roll with Hank" from now until the playoffs.

Once getting to the playoffs, its very likely it'll be practically all Hank, and you really dont want him worn out or tired when it gets to game 5, 6 or 7 in a series.

No guarantee we win this game if Hank starts. Maybe he saves 2 of the 3 Ottawa goals, but maybe he saves only 1.

Think Biron gets the Avs games, one of the Sabres/Leafs back to back, and one of Wild/Jets back to back. Then hopefully by April they have their seed clinched and he can play 1 or 2 of the April games.

This is most important month for Biron getting some playing time...17 games in 30 days, there's no way we ride Hank for most of the rest of the season.

Give Biron no more than 5 games.

2 goals on 4 shots was just ridiculous.

I'd rather finish 4th in the standings with a rested Hank than 1st in the standings with a completely gassed Hank.

Rangers have two more back to backs so that's two guaranteed for Biron. Maybe if we clinch every thing early, he gets another game or two. You simply can't roll with Hank and tire him out.

We've been using biron this season so that hank would be rested for big games and into the playoffs. these games are starting to get big. henrik is not 38 years old, he can AND WANTS TO play back to backs.. and frankly, we need him.

let biron play against the isles or buffalo etc. henrik is rested and ready to take control. they've worked too hard all season to let this lead slip, and pitt is too close. this team is getting tired and we need the king in net if we're going to hold the fort.

You're playing Biron basically two or three games, there's nothing wrong with that. Do you want Henrik playing 16 straight games into the playoffs?

I didn't think Marty was that great tonight and he hasn't been of late but when you score one goal, you can't expect to win. I'd be more worried about our offense being terrible going down the stretch than Biron getting his two or three games.

16 games left....

The back to backs are Buffalo And the Leafs - Minny and the Jets

Those should be 8 pt right there...

I'd like to see Lundqvist take the Montreal game at the end of the month and roll through the rest of the way.

I hear what you are saying, but the reality is our best player played 0.0 toi tonight.

I'm not concerned about the Presidents trophy or playoff seeding for that matter. I just want this team FEELING GOOD and Rolling strong heading into the playoffs.

That's fine but you can't have Henrik playing all of these games like people want. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Biron playing one of each of the back to backs and maybe one more start. That is three starts out of sixteen in a schedule with games that are packed in tightly. Biron needs to get some in otherwise you're gonna tire out Henrik. This isn't like any other month where games are spread out. There's only one two day break the entire month and that's leading into a back to back.

He gets 3 starts BOY (maybe 4 if April games are not meaningful) and then sits and watches for 2 months. It's been 1 start a week just about all year. He's better than most backups in the league and he's a good teammate. You can't ask for much more from a backup goaltender.

for **** sake, hank is well rested and biron sucks balls lately. it's getting obnoxious at this point that hank might break or become too fatigued if he plays back to back or 3 in 4. come on.

you might go to hank more often down the stretch to try to stay ahead of pitt but i think for the most part you stick to the game plan of limiting his # of games. in past years i think a big reason why his game hasn't been as good in the playoffs is that he was burnt out...

last year its not just that he played 68 games, but the fact that due to needing every win to get in and biron getting hurt, he played the last 26 games and was burned out.

flipside is that he needs a bunch of games to get into a groove and he is better when he plays alot vs after having a game off...but i'd just had to play him 16 straight down the stretch and offset the positive of reducing his playing time till now

i might give biron 1 more start. subject to change depending on how things play out but if i had to plan it out right now, i'd pencil him in for march 23rd vs toronto (1st of our last back-to-back). that would give hank the next 7, a night off and then the final 8 to get into a groove for the playoffs.
