Interesting stat about past 5 Stanley Cup Champs
10/11 Bruins - Lost 7 of 10 in March
09/10 Hawks - Lost 8 of 11 in March
08/09 Pens - Lost 7 of 11 in Jan/Feb
07/08 Wings - Lost 10 of 11 in Feb
06/07 Ducks - Lost 7 of 10 in Feb
I just got this stat from Sportsnet. So for all the teams that are contenders with comfortable position in the standings, this is the time to lose some games

If Leafs make the playoffs, they will be runaway favourites for the cup

Does this mean anything? I'd be willing to bet that most teams have a significant losing streak at some point in January, February, or March.

Alright!!! Fellow Leaf fans, the Cup is coming home this year!
We have like 2? wins in the last 15 games! If all that was needed was a slump in Feb.

You can make a statistic or positive correlation between any two things if you look hard enough.

Ridiculous how spread out this stat is.
Probably half the league goes through a bad streak in the second half of the year.

No kidding. what a dumb stat.
oh whoopidy doo pittsburgh went 4 and 7 during a stretch in jan/feb.. which means they went 6 and 7 since both the game before and after were wins.

By "this", do you mean January/February/March?
Because that's like half the season.
Not an interesting stat in the slightest.

According to this stat, the Leafs are destined to get the Cup this year, maybe the Superbowl too
