I remember a while back he had a tv show or some football talk show thing with another football player (I forget that player's name), but he said that he thought hockey players were a lot tougher than football players and that hockey was a tougher sport to play in. This was a couple years ago if my memory serves me right so maybe he is a casual fan or something.

Boo hoo, we need more vanilla in the sports world. A polarizing athlete is contacting the future MVP. Think of all the silly hi-jinks they may find themselves in if this friendship buds. With Ocho's personality and Evgeni's poor grasp of the English language, I can smell a sit-com.
Good for him. While his antics did go overboard on times. I always liked Ochocinco, good to see someone like him take an interest in hockey.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
he's cool/ i don't really follow football, but any guy who changes his name like that has a fin sense of humour i can appreciate.
also, any exposure to american fans of other sports is good. people look up to their favorite athletes in the nfl and other sports just like we look up to and respect some of our fav nhlers, so it can get people to check things out.
My thoughts exactly. I really like Ocho, he's never come across as a bad person ever. Just a good natured guy who sometimes acts like an idiot, but one that is pretty entertaining
Pretty much this. I'm a fan, even as a Patriots fan and even with his terrible past season with them.
Actually quite a few """big""" (I use the " liberally with Chad Johnson) are in to hockey.. I know it's actually a popular sport amongst people with money..
Good for him. as much as he loves the camera hes a good guy. He treats his fanbase well and would do good to take an interest in the best sport. maybe He'll be featured on the next 24/ocho: leafs red wings
Sadly hes changing his name back to Johnson this summer, hes getting married. can't say I blame the girl for not wanting "ochocinco" as a last name.
forget Ochocinco, you know who would be way better at hockey? SHAQ. he'd be like Chara, but better because he is taller or the greatest net front presence ever.
