On the positive side, I thought Richards was much improved tonight. Pass to Cally was a good one and he looked a lot quicker and more involved. I hope to see more of that from him.
I'm trying not to overreact but this team needs to get it's head out of it's ass.
Garbage.

Too many guys in the bottom six that just bring nothing offensively. Scott, Boyle, Prust, Fedotenko, and Rupp alone have limited to no offensive skill and just grind. Mitchell may be the most talented out of the bottom six offensively and he's nothing more than a 13th forward IMO. That's a huge problem.
I agree we have a weak bottom six, but our top two lines aren't getting anything done. At this point we don't have a first line scoring threat atm. I think you got to move Stepan away from the first line. He is trying to force plays to Gabs, its way too tempting to him.
Who else is pumped for the 3/5 or 4/5 PO matchup !!!!
Take a look at the lineup even Hank with Glenn Hall and Roy as Siamese triplets couldn't help this crew of ham handed plugs !!!!

Agreed, been saying this for a few weeks now. Our bottom 6 COMBINED ON THE SEASON has 26 goals. 6 guys, 26 goals. That is pathetic.
Also, something I found very odd tonight. There were at least two or three plays when the Rangers were on the rush; the puck carrier gained position in the slot. Instead of shooting, the puck carrier would pass the puck to the far side(willingly giving up a better shooting angle).

Definitely. Plain and simple, the PP has to get going. This team will get killed in the playoffs with a bad PP. And I don't want to hear about how the Bruins won the Cup last year with a bad PP because this team simply isn't as good as last year's Bruins team.
The defense, particularly Del Zotto and McDonagh look tired, and have both started to struggle at the same time. Forwards haven't helped much, however.
Summary; it's like they got deflated after the game was tied and mailed it in. Cally is struggling out there you can just see it in his face. Biron has been bad but who do you replace him with next year? Vokoun? Nittymaaki? The Rangers don't have any real goalie prospects and if they draft a Subban or the Russian kid this year, they won't be ready for 3-4 years.
The passing and decision making was awful tonight.
Can they please call up MZA and have him, Dubinsky, and Mitchell play on the 4th line together? At least that might generate some offense.
this might make sense to some however you seem to forget that a) dubi and his sinus' are going to be in the doghouse when/if he comes back and b) zucc will NEVER see the garden ice as long as torts is behind the bench. I along with alot of fans would agree that rupp, scott and probably feds could take a seat...permanently

Well right now they need to get a first line to start acting like a first line. I think its time for Richards and Gabs to start working together. I agree that the PP is a major issue, but they are completely stagnant with offense at even strength. Reminds me of the Rangers last season down the stretch.
They just aren't themselves out there on the ice. Is it physical, mental or a combination of both? It's getting a bit long in the tooth now, as they say.
It was nice seeing Richards look so intent on getting something done on the powerplay. It's the only thing good that I can take from this game.
Not to be a downer but if they don't fix this thing soon this is starting to look like the 1990-91 season; they were in first most of the year and in the final few weeks Pittsburgh overtook them and the Rangers got bounced in round 1.
