Back home from the game, calmed down too. At first I was pissed because they had a regulation win, but choked.

But in retrospect, it wasn't a bad game. We saw two good teams duke it out and trade opportunistic goals. Just unfortunate that the Sharks couldn't cash in on the OT PP or score even one shootout goal.

AND the team looked better without Zeus, time for him to ride the bench for the rest of the season.

Now only if the coaching staff can get their head on straight and bench White, put Vandy back at on the blueline, play Braun over Demers, and get TJ ****ing Galiardi into the lineup (second line, please, wingels needs to sit or go to fourth line) and this can turn around.

Oh, and I think it's worth mentioning that I liked what I saw from Demers tonight. He really brings that element of physicality.

well at least mitchell filled his quota for a highlight goal.

despite all his downfalls, he does score some beauties (tonight, vancouver last year, shorty vs ducks a while back)

Im kind of onboard with this, good call. I like Demers over Braun though.

That's fine. Something like

Marleau-Thornton-Pavs
Clowe-Couture-TJ
Winnik-Moore-Mitchell
Winchester-Desjardins-Wingels

Vlasic-Boyle
Murray-Burns
Vandermeer-Demers/Braun

It doesn't take rocket science to field the best team possible. I really don't understand why this wasn't the lineup tonight, or why it won't be the lineup (not necessarily the line combos, just the personnel and Vandy on the blueline for **** sakes!) next game, and so on.

The Sharks need to do some research on shootout analytics. We'd be in playoffs right now if they cared more about the "gimmick"....

Moore needs some finishers with him though. The guy is a good playmaker.

I think we should stick Clowe with him when Havlat gets back.

The Sharks are also winless in every game Moore has played as a Shark.

Sadly, we don't have a finisher to pair with Moore. ****, we don't have any finishers on the team. This is the Sharks, 20+ years of fans yelling "FINISH!" when watching games. (but true )

Really? We're 6-5 in shootouts. Should we be 8-3? That'd be nice I guess, but since it's mostly a crap shoot I'd say we're doing alright.

I believe they were 4-0 at one point. So, I guess there's good and bad interpretations to that 6-5 record.

It certainly doesn't come down to Tmac's brain, since he also had the 4-0 record. Clowe, Pav's and Couture all had a shot and we still lost by one shot. It's a crapshoot at the best and worst of times.

Just when the negative nancies start giving up on the season, the Sharks will tear it up, going 14-2 in their last 16.

We have a FINISH goalie. Does that count?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks Mitchell is better than Handzus anymore. I don't feel as alone now.

Niemi makes a lot of really good saves, but at the same time, I feel like he is part of the reason the Sharks lost tonight. Boyle has been awful lately as well and he plays so many minutes, he needs to better.

The Refs are not helping the sharks at all either. That hooking penalty on Mitchell was a joke considering nothing like that has been called in the NHL for atleast a few months. The missed board on wingles, The missed trip on Boyle that led to the second goal, those are things that should not be missed by refs.

Even a bad team wins more than the Sharks are winning right now. Juanter is right, this is some malicious bad luck the Sharks have right now.

It's a crapshoot to a degree, but there's luck involved with other parts of the game too and 6-5 isn't acceptable there (in regulation/OT). I don't see why it should be acceptable in shootouts.

As much as we think they sky is falling right now, the Sharks are 1-2-2 in their last 5. Not great, but to contrast, Phoenix is 0-4-1.

Murray and Boyle should be the 2nd pairing. Y'know, to lighten Boyle's load AND preserve chemistry.?

Expectations don't always equal reality.

07-08 6-6
08-09 6-5
09-10 8-5
10-11 5-5

This year is not out of line, much less some mega failure on Todd's part.

Derpressing loss.

Tough to watch the Sharks outshoot yet another opponent but Lehtonen was gdamn great tonight. There's no one to really point the finger at tonight but damn...the Sharks could use a bounce or two right now.

hard to put it up to bad luck.

we are a truly unbalanced team. if the game we played was "complete" not just full of effort, one of those goals doesnt go in. im a firm believer in you create your own luck.

it was amazing how many times we werent in front of the attacker...i mean we werent even attacking the puck, but they kept getting behind us. i think the d-lines need a shake up.

i agree that boyle is taking too many minutes, id rather see burns-vlasic try and create offense in a game.

Why would you do this, they both should be in the lineup every night.
