Toughness, yes, you're born with. Skill set and skating can definitely be taught.

I would only rank DeSousa behind Mckeown and DiPerna.

What I meant was his natural skating ability and great hands. These are gifts.

More like McKeown, Middleton, Diperna and then maybe DeSousa

I must say it is fascinating stepping back and understanding the plethora of opinions, and how they differe as you get deeper into the rounds of the draft.

The first round is relatively easy save for perhaps a few names, but as the draft goes on you get more into needs, preferences, projections and then outright guesses. Is it any wonder a kid like Tanner Pearson was drafted so late or Spencer Abbott not drafted at all?

I have only seen Middleton a few times and was not overly impressed. He wasn't such a stud when I watched him play against top end GTHL talent. The GTHL boys I have seen many times and are all real players with great upsides.

Pearson grew a lot since his draft. He is much bigger and stronger now.

That's my point though, you don't know what you are getting at 15 going on 16 especially in the latter rounds of the draft.

Let's face it, some of the top round players in every draft are aided in terms of perception if they are already built like men, as that is the league they are going to....

He made the adjustment to become a sound two-way responsible player; that is what ohl teams will love about him. In the Omha he could put up big numbers, once again that is why stats do not tell the story.

There are a lot of good quality kids in the omha, actually very good and don't take this the wrong way as i am a big fan of hometown hockey but you give me 5 top forwards and 5 top D and there are many 2nd tier players in the G who are equal to these guys.
Potential OMHA first rounders? Matt Schmaltz & Nikki Petti of STA; Patrick Sanvido of Guelph.

I also love Alvaro. Size is the obvious issue. I also watched this team many times and believe it was the play of these smaller players, not the twin towers, that made the Rebels such a good team. The only big boy up front that came to play every time was Pastorious.

I agree with that. No coincidence that Fabbri, Miller were captains. Alvaro could have worn a C for his "pitbull" mentality. Ursitti and Eustace played a nice role too. Also those 6 Dman are all top 120 guys to me.

If the Petes are taking Cornel id like for them to grab another Ottawa boy early too, make it easier on eachother.. Maybe something like Cornel-1st Mcdade-2nd then.. Alavaro-4th... I dont know how realistic these are. But from the sounds of how people talk about these kids they are all Dave Reid type players.. And all types that are fun to watch play the game. Pure heart.

Centorame I think will be draft ahed of Evans. I see Evans a late 2nd round pick maybe 3rd round. Alvaro a steal in the 3rd round!

Hi I am a scout for various junior programs in the western United States. This is my first post on this site so I'm sorry if I am repeating questions. My specialty is goaltenders so I have a few questions here.
1. Is Liam Herbst good enough to start in the league next year?
2. Who is considered the second best goalie in the draft?
3. Will all the goalies who finished top 10 in stats at the OHL cup likely be taken in the draft?
Here is a list of the guys who finished top 10:
1 Liam Herbst Mississauga Rebels
2 Marco Santelli North York Rangers
3 Dawson Carty Mississauga Rebels
4 Joseph Cruz TPH Thunder
5 Mathew Robson Toronto Marlboros
6 Cameron Hackett Vaughan Kings
7 Andrew Tucci Don Mills Flyers
8 Daniel Potter Toronto Young Nationals
9 Aaron Taylor York Simcoe Express
10 Joel Howard Ottawa Jr. 67's

I believe Daniel Potter is QMJHL property.

My mistake. Can we expect the other to all be selected? I saw Robson and St. Germain play against each other and it was a great game. Robson could work on rebounds though

One of the top goalies not in the OHL Cup that has been mentioned on this Board a few time is Jason Rhynold from JRC, on a better team he would get a lot more recognition.

Ive mentioned Jason Rhynold a few times. He impressed me many times this season. He kept his team in games where they were getting roasted in there own end and he was peppered with shot after shot.

Brayden St.germaine impressed me alot at the OHL cup, i like the way he anticipates and moves.
I like Brandon Klerer and Dawson Carty as a goalie prospects who played backup roles this year but impressed me very much.

A kid I mentioned a few months ago from copper cliff redman. Michael Muzyka something about this kid i really like...havent seen him much. Just at the Marlboro classic tournament for a handful of games. He made several jaw dropping saves and competed like a warrior. Not sure game to game how he was. I did notice he was invited to the Under Armour OHL combine though.

Im not sure where people have Robson or Hackett. Im not a fan personally of either. I will admit Hackett has the best puck skills out of any goalie Ive seen this year by a landslide.
