Wtf are you serious? When he used to do this people used to rag on him for being a "one-trick pony" now he uses that respect he receives barreling down the wing to set up Chimera for an easy cross-crease -- who misses, and Ovechkin receives the blame?
This regular season is a write-off statistic wise for Alexander Ovechkin. It's all about the playoffs this year for him and the whole Capitals. They've been facing adversity all year and shown flashes of the team they used to be -- in both good and bad ways. Let's see how far they make it in the playoffs before we begin proclaiming "he's back" or "they suck".
It was a big finish for the caps and a big 2 points, but ive seen similar moments that look like turning points at the time, and theyve followed it up with terrible games afterward. So who knows?

Eh, Ov looked a bit like he was channeling Cheechoo on that play.

lol cool, he is probally 10x more in shape than you.
Actually he's not..
I may have finished up playing college soccer 2 years ago but I surely don't have a gut like that.. that's pathetic..
EDIT: My point is that the dude is out of shape.. and until he gets back into great shape, he will continue to be a shell of the Ovi we saw take this league by storm...

You can never doubt the guy's effort, which is why he has racked up alot of OT goals in his career.
I've watched him probably half of the Caps games this year, and he just doesn't seem to have the hockey sense that the best in the league do.
This is interesting, cause i have noticed the same thing. I mean, i have watched about 15-25 games of Ovechkin since he came to the NHL. I was amazed how much raw talent and power he had. It almost seems like he has lost his talent level. Which, i realize, is impossible. But yet still, he looks like a mere mortal on the ice and two years ago he was "the man" among boys.
