I'm no Dubnyk fan but why wasn't he playing tonight? Erm, don't the Oilers want to see if he can put together some starts here before the end of the season?

But he listened to HF - started the kids together, put Omark on the second line. So many have complained that this wasn't happening in the past games.

You realize if you put the C on Hall. He might have to be the one to answer all the questions for the media.

C isnt easy. You could become Toews or something. Or Thornton, and Ovi (shadows of themselves)

Perhaps because he won the last game in spite of his repeated screw ups?

I know Renney makes questionable decisions, but listening to HF should not be part of his coaching. There were times where HF asked if Eberle should go to the AHL or be benched...

You'll get no argument from me that the two goals were brutal but the Oilers aren't even in a position to get to a shootout without his saves in the third and OT.

Yeah if nothing happens before the draft then it's safe to assume Tambellini is getting extended. I can't imagine the Oilers letting him do the draft and then not renewing him. Kinda weird it hasn't happened yet after it was rumoured to be close about a month ago though.

Ideally both him and Renney/coaching staff are gone but that's probably not going to happen. At the very least Renney is finished.

Yeah she is, gorgeous, graceful, and a treat to watch. The latter is something I wish I didn't miss most Oilers games.

The Oilers manage to lose the Epic battle of the bottom feeders.

Oh well...just another normal day in Oil country.

Excellent rant !
I suggest you start working on a way to imagine the return of Tambellini for sure . Renney is a tougher call and I guess it is possible that he gets sacrificed in much the same way MacT and Quinn were before him . But I think he gets a new deal as well .

Its a rebuild . Its all about development . We were never going to make the playoffs . We have a five year plan .
All the excuses have been lined up so there's no reason to fire anyone .

This organization has no shame .

The Oilers got all excited in the midst of Gagner's historic night and almost overreacted by rewarding Tambellini.

Anyway, it would sure be a breath of fresh air to get a new philosophy into the organization. The first tank season was 2009/2010 but we've been putting up with Tambellini's rhetoric since 2008.

Too many posters on HF think a coach can spin gold from garbage.

The Oilers perofrmance in the d-zone made the 28th place Canadiens look like the Soveit Red Army team

Disgraceful.

So here's my take on Gags, sure he had a bad game tonight, but IMO he improved in a lot of areas of his game this season to justify him staying for another season.

His faceoffs improved, his skating I think improved, and his defensive play have improved. He's leading the team in +/- for a reason and that should be accounted for his success in that department.

The trades/signings he has made aren't too bad, so I'm in a wait-and-see mode with Tambellini. If he extends Renney, then he needs to go along with Renney. If he hires a better coach and we get close to the playoffs, then he gets a pass.

Somebody who's much more skilled with photoshop than I am has to put that quote onto a Tambo pic with him in the likeness of Stalin. Epic meme.
