I thought Kane played well tonight. 9 shots, 4 hits. He was throwing his body around. I mean sure if he was a playmaker as well that would be awesome. But sometimes being selfish makes things happen too. One of his shots on net led to Wellwood's goal.

Well said.

Not much sense in making the playoffs if your goalie isn't at his best. It took AV 3 years to grasp this.

8 was very poor. He imo isn't ready to play consistently well at this level , and at C he handles the puck too much for what he creates and has far too many easy turnovers . We play hard as a team most nights but the talent deficiency shows .

I thought that this was a great game, almost felt playoff-esque. Pavelec was an absolute wall in net for you guys and I was astounded on his great rebound control. I was hoping for a 3-2 Canucks win in OT, as I want you guys to make the play-offs, but I'll be rooting for you against the Flames anyways.
Thanks. You guys are the real deal. Great talent at every position (forward lines, defense and goaltending). Expect to see Vancouver make it to the 3rd round at least. Just need the twins to get back on track!

In the space of about 2.5 weeks the Jets have gone from 10th to 8th to 3rd to 8th to 9th. The Southeast is crazy. Still got a month to go.

Yup, a loss. But a loss against a good team.
I like that the game could have gone either way.
Proof we can hang with the best of them.

Great crowd! I like the amount of cheering Jets fans.

Pavvy was a difference maker once again.
Wheelers goal was very very nice.

Jets will be ready for the Flames tomorrow.

It'll probably sound condescending, and it's easier to say after a win, but man was it nice watching a game that actually had 2 teams trying to score goals for the entire night.

Our board was sure jacked up and fiery during this game, more than usual. Oh and Pavelec is a beast, enjoy a long stretch of playoff hockey starting next year if you guys dont get in this year.

If only Schneider had played against Buffalo and Luongo played against us .

Nice to see Schneider playing well though. He was probably the best player to ever suit up for the Moose.

Our team needs a better forecheck. That was the biggest thing I noticed. There were a few times where they would keep the puck in Vancouver's zone for an extended amount of time, but for the most part they would get it in...take a shot or two. Maybe score. then it would promptly slide down to the other end.

Pavs was great tonight. Definitely kept us in the game, Vancouver was out shooting us like crazy. Defensively this team seemed to struggle as well.

but overall, I can't complain too much. Van is the second best team in the league pt wise and i think THE best ability wise. The Canucks got it all, solid D great offense, good goalies...and the Jets kept up. There were areas that needed work and some silly mistakes(I'm looking at you, Enstrom)...overall the team played well and kept it super close. Had they been able to capitalize on the PP or had a better forecheck to keep that pressure on Schneids, we would have had this in the bag.

The team def. played hard, so I cannot complain.

I was at the game tonight. Jets started slowly but got stronger as the game went along. As a Canucks fan I was on the edge of my seat thinking this was going to be another loss. I try to hate you guys but I can't. Maybe this is the honeymoon period and the hate will come but I'm just glad you have your team back. It was a travesty to lose it in the first place. I actually didn't mind the Jets fans at all. There was a bit of a celebratory feel about it all for everyone, no nastiness that I saw.

Back to the game. Your goalie is good, Wheeler is good. I was expecting more from Kane so was a bit disappointed in that - well, okay not really from my standpoint, but I liked him as a Vancouver Giant and he's a local boy. Byfuglien needs to lose weight. He looks about 20 lbs. heavier than when he played with Chicago and his speed just wasn't there. He never was fast but he was lumbering around and being big and heavy only gets you so far these days.

Good luck to you guys and hope you get that playoff spot. You deserve it more than some of the other teams I've seen that are in the same position.

Go Jets.

Where the hell did Wheeler come from? He looked outstanding on the ice. Can't believe I've hardly heard of him before today.

Good game, and good luck in Calgary. Make them suffer.

2 totally different games.

Kane is a pure goal scorer while Kesler is a two way player. I'd expect Kane to be a consistent 40-50 goal scorer.

That's the biggest difference. Also the fact that Kane is a winger while Kes is a Center.

its really too bad that one linesman couldn't get himself out of the way of the puck and instead fed a perfect pass to a canuck for a goal...that sorta sucked.

Never mind "couldn't" more like "didn't even try".

Disappointing result, and the Jets didn't play their "best", but this isn't one of those losses that should sink the team or the fans.

Vancouver has a very good team. The Jets didn't have a great 1st period, and gave up too many shots overall, but the fact is the Jets had a 1 goal lead in the 3rd period with 14 or so minutes to play.

The only thing I was a little surprised/frustrated about was how it seemed like the Jets got away from being physical at times. Especially since it seemed like when they were physical (last two minutes of the 1st) it seemed to work very well. The Canucks have a talented team up front and on D. I would have thought that keeping the hitting up would have been more in the gameplan.

Since there's plenty of post-game dissection in the GDT, figure we might as well keep it to one thread.
