Likewise - would be cool to see the Jets get that #8 seed.

Why not just bring Bitz back up to put him with the Twins, instead of Kassian? I'd like to see Kassian with the Twins as well, but if that's going to happen, AV has to keep Kassian with the Sedins longer then one shift for any chemistry to build. Unless AV just expects Kassian to pull a Bitz?

Clearly if we ever get a player like Nash or Perry they should be on the 1st line!
Why load up one line? Kesler could use an actual elite winger, and it could make Kes 10x more legit + we basically have two first lines. If the Amex line can play like this consistently, then yeah, load up the top line, but I've always wondered how Kes would do on the Canucks with an elite winger. How nice would it be to have opposing teams 2nd defense pairing against Booth - Kesler - Perry/Nash!?!?!?!? Especially after dealing with the already dangerous (kay, maybe not at this point in time, but yeah) Sedin - Sedin - Burrows line beforehand.

Another good news, no Aaron Rome on the lineup makes the game more watchable. Hopefully we never have to see him on ice again.

Thanks, good to hear nice things said about our team for a change. I'll be rooting for the Jets to make the playoffs as well. Hopefully Nucks can help you guys out next time we play one of those Eastern Conference bubble teams. Good luck rest of the way, Winnipeg has great fans and support, kudos to your city. Seen some exciting jets games this year myself, especially a couple against Philly awhile back.

To be fair it was also a horrible pass by the Hoff...

Even though I am still a fan of CoHo I am honestly so sick of seeing his name brought up all the time. When will the comparisons stop? They are completely different players and other than being kind of invisible tonight Kass has played really well for us. Pro Cody or anti Cody, just let it go.

I am just going to sit in the corner and continue my love affair with Chris Higgins. It's seriously a toss up between him and Juice as to who is my favourite Canuck.

On the topic of MAG - Tanev pairing:

I loved it, even when they were passing to each other so much on the point. I think that's showing some pretty sick chemistry/confidence in each other already, if that was Rome with Tanev/MAG, it'd be the corner before he'd even have the puck. MAG/Tanev just have so much poise with the puck. One thing though, is they both seem reluctant to shoot the puck, but even when they're passing back and forth, it will create havoc with the opposition defense because they'll be watching the puck, and they'll get out of position.

I also liked the breakout these two had, when they didn't have any options up ice, they just kept going back and forth until they had an option. Nothing wore then just throwing the puck away, only to lose possession of it. Nothing wrong with these two hanging onto the puck because we're a team built on possession.

Påhlssons goal seemed almost Sedin like to me, the passing between Hansen, Bieksa and Påhlsson was just amazing.

Pahlsson is the Thomas Edison of the NHL. Such a smart player out there.

I find it amusing that I am being accused of being something less than objective, when my post was quite clearly intended to point out how little objectivity this forum has shown. I like Kassian. I don't even mind the trade. Hell, my friend jokingly accused me of pumping up Kassian's tires to make myself feel better about trade. But what I don't like to see - and it is what this forum is delivering - is a slanted analysis of these two players.

Just take a look at the Hodgson/Kassian/Around the League threads. They are littered with posts dissecting Hodgson's game. This of course, is not a problem, if the same degree of criticism is also directed towards Kassian, which of course, is not the case. So what you end up with is a extremely bias comparative analysis that could only render one conclusion.

Ironically, when I provide the same level of scrutiny towards Kassian that the overwhelming majority have for Hodgson I get accused of being a "homer." Some posters need to take a look in the mirror....

When did I "question people that think the 3rd line was strengthened at the deadline"? I agree with that assertion....

I'm actually impressed with the third pair. I think Tanev complimented MAGs game. Tanev was playing sound defense. Position was stellar and was making great outlet passes. Just wish he had a bit more size. Other than that, he was great.

I don't get how the Canucks can out play the opposition by a significant margin yet have only 1 PP compared to 3 PK.

Kassian has only played 32 NHL games, and is only 21 years old yet. While Hodgson, including playoff games, has 89 NHL games played, and is 22 years old. Of course Kassian isn't going to be all that consistent for the first little while, he's barely played any NHL hockey, and he's just come onto a new team.

He obviously didn't have a good game tonight, who's denying that? Fact is, no one is upset because he hasn't cost us a game since coming to Vancouver, or wasn't running around taking stupid penalties etc. On the other hand, Hodgson has cost them goals, and maybe one game.

There's leeway for Kassian because of his inexperience yet, and his games in Buffalo barely count because he was in a losing environment no one wanted to be in, and I doubt his confidence grew there at all.

We can only analyze their games once they get more matured, and experienced (especially Kassian).

Yes, please kill all teams that are east! Since last season I've really enjoyed watching you guys play, and I was 100% behind you in the SC run. I can honestly say if Winnipeg did not get a team this season, I would be all over the Nucks. Deadly deadly team. My West coast pick for shizz yo.

Meh, you're looking up to your leaders in these tight games, but of all people, SAMUEL PAHLSSON scores.

It's good that they eek out a win, but it's a concern if they can't have timing scoring in the PO...

Pretty crazy that Winnipeg didn't manage a single shot on the Canucks' net with the Gragnani-Tanev pairing out there.

Game was a step in the right direction for everybody. Even the Sedins. And except Kassian.

I also I really like Gragnani and Tanev in the offensive zone. They cycle and pass so smooooth.

This Jets/Canucks fan is pleased... althought would've been better if the Jets could've got a point.

MAG-Tanev pairing was very solid. And my boy Kane...what a beast.

Yeah, count me in the Tanev - Gragnani pairing. That was a nice pairing for limited time seen in the game.

I just wish they had some more toughness.
