The game is so fast and physical compared to Sweden."
Is the level of SM-liiga rising? And are we again in Top 3?
NLA, Czech Extraliga, SEL and FEL are all very tough leagues. It probably changes time to time but really it's a tossup, no real way to measure which is best.
Rofl. Well Jan Snopek, a guy who hasn't played a single game in KHL, said in an interview that he is certain SM-liiga is better than KHL. I wouldn't take these interviews too seriously.

you can put swiss NLA near SEL and SM-league. The Zug team from this year has beat a crap NY Rangers(8-4). Zürich Lions, 2009 europeen champions against Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Bern with a KHL budget(near 30 millions). Davos team from last year would win the eliteserien. Anders Eldebrink dixit. already four examples. canadien players like eric perrin or jeff hamilton do the exact same number of points has they have did in swiss. you have better national players but the swiss league have better foreign(usually canadiens and tcheque) players.

I actually don't know which one is better NLA or SEL or FEL I just did a list on a whim, so take it with a grain of salt. Someone could argue that it's an even better league than SEL or FEL. It's very hard to compare.

Now that we have you in the conversation could you tell us what kind of depth does NLA have? We all know Bern is humongous and Zurich Lions are really good etc what about the smaller teams, or are the "smaller" teams actually small?
I've said this opinion erlier, that it's a tossup between the three and possibly even Czech Extraliga in the mix.
the four lowest teams in league. EHC BIEL, ambri, rapperswill and langnau(the budget for these 4 teams is situated between 9-10 millions francs, the same thing in euros), have the same level has huge team in Allsvenskan.(rögle, mälmo, leksand).
has for sm-league i don't know enough to tell were we are situated.
It's impossible to say since the leagues don't have inter-league games during the season (and I'd like to keep it that way, mind you) but only pre-season games, and I don't think they tell anything about anything.
Really wish there was a Champions League in European hockey. Those CHL games were awesome even if my team wasn't in it.
I agree 100% it makes no sense whatsoever why there is no Champions League for hockey. Is there an appetite for such a tournament in Europe?

people in swiss don't care about European games in hockey. we care about the domestic competition. a bern game against farjerstad would have 5000 persons. a NLA game will probably be sell out.

As a regular visitor to Finland who has attended some SM-Liiga games, I'd say that the top half of the NLA is as good as the SM-Liiga depthwise, but the bottom half still lags behind, although it's improving. On the other hand, Swiss teams have better imports.
I think the top half in both leagues is pretty much at the same level, but top to bottom the SM-Liiga is probably a bit better.

ZSC had some good attendances in their Champions' League games, and some clubs such as Lugano and Ambrí often organised IIHF tournaments and made a good job marketing them. Bern has always been a special case when it comes to international competitions.
I wouldn't take these interviews too seriously.
Though Elitserien might be 2 and SM-liiga 3.
