I believe Garth will swing a deal or two to improve his team, simply because he can’t have another summer like the one he had in 2011.

So Compton tells us Garf is going to swing some deals for the help they need this summer. Really Brian? I see we just passed the trade deadline and Garf couldn't even move one of the two few moveable players knowing they will likely walk this summer. Yet you "believe" he will make moves this summer? How about telling us what you really think, for once, instead of providing cover or the Isle's organization?

Compton is very disconnected from the organization. He's providing it from a writer/fans perspective and he works for the NHL. He's not gonna call the organization out or flame them.

EVERYONE knows what the team needs to do. It HAS to acquire players in the offseason to meet the floor - just like every season.

He doesn't have to. All he has to say is, "They needed to add some bodies last summer and failed. I don't know if they can add those bodies this year, but they have to try."

Instead it's more, "Oh they'll add the bodies, they just have to, hurr, derr." Truth is they don't deserve that kind of respect. They totally failed last summer to do it, and will this year if all they do is dangle money at UFAs. They have to trade for bodies, but we all know Wang doesn't want Garf moving cheap roster pieces for expensive ones. I don't get how this is either advanced rocket science for some in the media, or a taboo topic of discussion. Wang chooses to starve his club of real help for monetary gain. He is the one who owns all the shame. There is nothing wrong with simply telling the truth.
