Only on the official team results, if I understand correctly. The line on last night's game is PHI 1 - TO 0. But nobody gets credit for that "goal", especially as the winning team may have outscored the opponent by 2 in the SO.

They just showed a clip of the Flyers bench when Giroux scored his goal and Jagr looked like a little school girl. He had this big grin on his face and his was punching someone in the shoulder

Correct. It is always 1-0 scoreline. But the goal goes toward the GF statline. Consequently, Flyers increased their goals scored on the season by one last night.

Just go to nhl.com and watch the game highlights from last night. At the very end, right after Giroux scored, the camera will focus in on the Flyers bench. That's when you will catch Jagr jumping up and down

The question I have is, don't they even a award a goal to the player who scored the GWG?(i.e Giroux) This is how I have always thought it was.

Using your example the game-winning goal would be credited to the player who scored the first goal.

Apparently not. I suppose it is intended to not let SO goalscoring get out of hand. One could theoretically have an infinite number of goals scored on each side, as long as they remain tied. I understand what you're saying about the winning goal, but the NHL probably just eliminated all stats from the SO to be complete.
