Bryz is used to playing 65-75 games a year. He's also in the hottest form of his flyers career. Why in the world would you want to jinx that benching him? Hell, he might start back to back.
feel bad for him, but knowing Lavi i can see Bryz playing until his first loss.
i don't ... Bryz is on fire, now we wish to have both goalies to play as before ?
i prefer 1 good over having 2 goalies who play nearly equal games but both suck as hell
we have bryz for 8 more years, all i wish he would keep his current state
I think bob gets the 2nd game of the back to back with Devils lavy will give Bryz a night off..
My mistake didnt look at the games bob may get devils sunday and lavy come back tuesday with Bryz and i know go with the hot goalie but i cant see it hurting to give Bryz a night off but never know lavy could ride Bryz as long as we keep winning..
I think starting Bryzgalov is the right idea. I hope he plays every game except the 2nd of back to backs from here on out. That's probably what he wants. And given that his mind seems to... unhinge a bit - I think this is the way to go.
Timonen's injury was really slowing him down. He was playing his worst hockey as a Flyer for the past few weeks before going out. Something obviously needed a rest. Hopefully he can heal up as he will be needed.
If the Flyers lost the last game, my guess is Bobrovsky would have started tonight.
Even with the back-to-back games this weekend, considering Bryzgalov is on a roll and the team is winning, coaches can be reluctant to risk altering the 'mo with a goalie switch.
MSE, do you think Lavy runs his goalies like Keenan? Meaning how he starts them.

No. Right now, Laviolette is relieved and delighted to have a top netminder on such a roll. He isn't going to mess with the mojo or the juju by any other name.
jaromir jagr philadelphia flyers today winners and no toronto!
gonna miss this one, but i'm glad bryz is getting the start. if we've learned anything, the dude is fragile as ****. if he's playing well, i wouldn't mess with it. i have no problem with bob starting tomorrow in new jersey if that's the case. he's gonna be fired up whenever he finally gets the nod; i wouldn't worry about him being cold.
Glad Bryz is getting the call tonight, hopefully the boys come out buzzing like they have and play well for 60 mins, hope Hartsy gets under Phanuffs skin!!!!
Our starter is playing as hot as he has all year as the playoffs approach but people are concerned about the back up being cold
Then again...
Tuukka Rask did get a few more starts then Cory Schneider last season and the Bruins did win the cup... you guys may be onto something. If we lose in the playoffs we can always look back and say, "Shoulda started Bob against the Leafs."
Thanks,
I think the last time I saw him play was in some form of alumni game or something. He actually sat in a stool in the crease. Pretty funny. He was fun to watch in his hayday.
Thank you for posting the Doug Favell interview. I remember him well, and my first goalie mask as a young lad was painted up like his starburst mask....Favell was a pretty damn good goalie back in his prime !
