Maybe Dale thinks his defense is young and wants full support of the forwards, or that his goalie is his best player, and isnt afraid to put the game in his hands. Was Ovi ailing? One reason to not keep attacking if so.

No matter the style I have seen the caps play over the decades, they usually had to "hang on" to win. It made for an exciting finish, I was entertained. It worked, suck it up. I hate the prevent in all sports but when it works its still tough to admit it, it f'in worked somehow.

Changing of strategy mid game is still new for our players. But I like that we can change systems between periods, but I want to done mid period. You can see we are still learning how to play defensive with a lead. I appreciate having the concept acknowledged even if he turned to it too soon. Having faceoff ace Halpern out today, hurt.

Sarge jumped IN THE AIR to paw a puck going over his head. I never saw that before. From his big slapper to little plays like I saw, he is just finally.... playing like everyone else. Not on his heels, tentative, in his bubb... zone. Bruce always said he was fearless but he always came across as scared to me esp. in the playoffs. He looks to be playing with more confidence than ever.

Its still pathetic how soft we are in front of our own net. When Sarge is the best at clearing the crease we have, he will have come full circle. It won't take much. All our D look scared of any and all forwards, every damn game. Turning away from them, barely a push. I have never seen something like it.

At least Karl "The Animal" Alzner did more than glare at Lou today.

Beagle is playing like he does not want to get sent back down.

What does the team do with him?

Ship out Laich in the off season and have Beagle center the 3rd line.

We played great today. The third period was playing our defensive dump the puck and take time away from the other team.

Don't know why everyone is mad

Solid win.

Didn't like the heavy trap in the 3rd one bit but it got the job done..barely.

We could use a heavy in the lineup somewhere..badly.

Too many icings. PP moved the puck well.

B's don't look like the same team we saw earlier this year. Do they have injuries? Sure. But the Caps were without Backstrom and Green and have been for large stretches of this season.

Sign him to a bloated multi-year contract?

Good call. Just get rid of the guy.

Just not going to post after this game? I mean no player has ever had a 5-game slump that is any good.
