Thanks for the insult. If something is that old though, just assume it's been covered. No need to be a dick about it
What insult? The trade happend when I was out, on a friday night, woke up not too long ago and saw it. How is a trade that went down not even 24 hrs ago is "old news"?
Anyways, don't know why you are insulted by my comment to be quite honest with you
Don't undersell what the Dolphins have to offer. Top 10 defense, not to mention Marshall and a real nice offensive line. I don't think Peyton has ever had a lineman as good as Jake Long. Plus Wayne would likely join him. He can win a Super Bowl just as easily in Miami as San Francisco.

Not exactly. Leinart faded into obscurity because he was awful, and he wasn't as big of a name as Tebow in college, despite the Hiesman and NCAA title. Tebow has has just as much hardware in addition to being in the conversation for greatest college player of all time.) Plus Tebow has succeeded at the NFL.
Wow great contribution. See my earlier post as to why you're 100 percent wrong.
I don't know if you're a Giants fan but if you are I bet after Eli's third year you were ready to run him out of town as well.
He isn't. He's a Dolphins fan.
And nobody brought up Eli except Jets fans. We're not trying to compare the two, because that is irrelevant to Sanchez's new contract, and nobody knows if their career trajectories will be at all similar. What we are saying is that the Jets gave a new big contract to a QB that hasn't really proven himself yet. Now, most of that isn't guaranteed money, and they probably didn't have any better options, but it's still a weird move from the outside perspective.
You can either get defensive, or you can accept that there just might be a good reason why everyone else is baffled by the move.

I'm not getting defensive. I haven't thrown out anything besides fact.
FACT: Sanchez among active QB's has the third highest playoff QB rating in the league. And that isn't over a limited sample-size either, he's played 6 games.
FACT: Despite what morons such as Gary Myers and Steven A. Smith will tell you, Sanchez had a productive year this year with an absolute turnstile at right tackle and two MALCONTENTS at receiver that totally fractured his huddle. I'm sympathetic to a third-year kid trying to control a huddle when his front office did him no favors by putting two absolute snakes in there in Plax and Holmes. One of whom is gone, the other has been put on notice by team leaders (Mangold, Revis) and his coach. Was it as much growth as we all wanted to see? Probably not, but he's also only 25. 32 total touchdowns is nothing to scoff at.
FACT: Sanchez is going into his 4th year and already has delivered two seasons where he took the team to one game of the Super Bowl. Unlike some of his haters (and some of my fellow Jets fans) I can be objective and state that the first year there was a massive stroke of luck to get them in. However they still had to go on the road and beat Cincy and San Diego. The second year I saw him go on the road and absolutely OUTPLAY Brady, a week after he rose above a terrible first half to beat Peyton. That game against the Colts showed me that even when things aren't going well, he can get it together and play his best when the chips are down.
FACT: Sanchez's new deal really only gives him an extra year and 2.75 million of guaranteed security, whereas if it works out, the Jets have him under contract for three more years. It's very easy to get out of the deal from the Jets perspective after 2013. A high-upside move that also lowers his cap number by 6 million this year, giving the Jets the ability to re-sign Pouha and be a player in free agency. I don't expect a big splash signing like Carl Nicks or Mario Williams, but they can bring in a Steve Hutchinson and a safety, and set themselves up very well in terms of flexibility come draft day.
I just find the level of disrespect that this kid gets is idiotic and unwarranted. I mean, I know people that will tell you Josh Freeman is a better QB and absolutely believe it. THAT'S RIDICULOUS. Objectively I can probably name 14 QB's off the top of my head that at this current moment I take over Sanchez. But there's something to be said for his upside, as well as the experience and ability he's shown in the post-season at such a young age. Considering this deal is in line with what Kevin friggin Kolb got...a guy who was unproven and has proven nothing except he's fragile and not very good, I'm very happy with the contract.
Nobody here says Freeman is a better QB. What I'm saying is that when you say you would take 14 QBs over him, and there are 32 teams in the league, that means he's mediocre. He's not getting paid like mediocre.
Sanchez's playoff QB rating is high because they didnt put him in a place of risk in those games. Most of those games he didn't even break 200 yards. That's a very skewed stat

EDIT: Also...LET'S GO DEVILS TONIGHT!
Fact: When you don't run a very pass heavy offense, QB rating tends to be skewed. Tim Tebow had a QB rating over 100 in a game where he went 2 for 8 through the air.
Fact: 6 games is not an adequate sample size for anything.
Fact: Sanchez sucks.

I would take Freeman over Sanchez.
I could probably compile a list of 20 QB's I'd rather have than Sanchez. He is so bad.
