The Oshie situation was a 4 on 3, it is the protocol on any man down situation.

Man, wish I could watch but I'm in the process of moving and don't have access to games... looks like a good one. Glad to see Stewart scored!
Hoping Blues remains #1!

Well obviously, but its a rather short amount of time. I figured this part was implied but I'll explain: 4-5 seconds down while the extra man retrieves a stick is much worth the risk as opposed to potentially a long shift. Like I said before the player without a stick can't get the puck, contributing to keeping the puck in the zone and further exhausting the team as they try and defend with a stickless defender.

Those 4 or 5 extra seconds would set up a beautiful one-time goal for the opposition.

Then why do you rarely see players in the NHL going to get a stick from the bench when down a man?

Even with the far bench, I still think it's the right move to leave immediately for a new stick. It takes an extra 2-3 seconds tops.

Over under:

Stewart gets 20 goals this season.

While we're on the subject, if he does get at least 20, would you call this a "bad" season?

When it happens to me, I always go to get the stick or get a change. You can hold the fort on a 5 on 3 for 5 seconds most of the time. If the offense tries to force it, you might even end up with a breakaway with a change in possession. I've actually scored 2 SHGs that way. Good times.

Under.

Yes, I don't think there's any doubt this has been a poor season relative to realistic expectations.

Well in Lacrosse, you have to leave the field if you break your stick, and a lot of the times the opposition takes advantage.

Because they're coached that way from a young age, and youth hockey coaches aren't known for being progressive?

MLB managers still issue intentional walks. Doesn't make them a good idea.

Even. I think he'll finish 20/20 which is underachieving for Stewart.
