I'm not saying I want guys to be injured, but it would certainly explain some of the dogs out on the ice last night.

So when do we get the injury report? I'm dying to know what's wrong with Bergeron.

Usually it takes two to three days for word to filter out, but sometimes longer.

I'm guessing Bergeron has a separated shoulder.

Sometimes, especially if a guy doesn't undergo surgery, you never hear anything at all. I recall a couple of years ago just a generic "banged up" about Chara, but I bet it was a lot more than that.

Tuukka wasn't 100% from his groin injury even though he was the back up the last few games.

My guesses:

Seguin - hand
Campbell - foot
Paille - upper body
Peverley - knee/core
JB - knee
Z - hand/nose
Seids - ribs
Bergy - shoulder/arm/nose
Marchy - foot
Krejci - shoulder

I've never seen Bergeron so lazy on the back check. That's usually his time to shine. I don't think a bum wrist would cause him to lose that much in his stride, but a bad shoulder definitely could. I'm no pro, but I imagine it's difficult to really pump into your strides with one arm.

No it`s not but....you take that many players off any other of the 15 teams in the playoffs and see how they`d play. I am a fence sitter on the injury front, the typical cliche is can`t use it as an excuse but..........it also can`t be completely ignored

Injuries force teams to move personel all around, most teams can probably withstand one or two, this team was hurting, and I`d wager whomever they would have played in round 2, woulda destroyed our boys and not due to skill

I opined in another thread that I wouldn`t be one bit shocked if we hear of 8-10 off season procedures that will be needed, minor to major

Watching him skate to the bench after taking that late faceoff in Game 6 makes me think it's the shoulder. He was in a lot of pain.

Bergy's such a linchpin on this team IMHO there's no way they were going to win a Cup again without him. A few games, maybe even a series, but not the whole thing.

I agree - it was a factor, and really don't want to get into a pissing match about it, but we could have easily easily overcame the injuries and at least made round 2...

My post was a little brief, I absolutely agree that we were banged up.. But still think we should have taken Washington

Didn't like our chances without quaider, Horton , and a really hurting bergy.

I think mental toughness / power play / inability to finish ahead of injuries

I don`t think mental toughness is/was a factor, too many players on this team who were part of the Cup winning team that I just won`t buy weren`t mentally tough, I think the will was there but the bodies just couldn`t keep up, everyone looked exhausted, not like the B`s we were used to seeing.

Been 14 years since a team has repeated, and I read no Cup winning team has made it outta the 2nd round the following year for a long time too......fatigue had to play a role too.

Even with all these factors, this team had many chances to put the Caps away and didn`t, won`t change my opinion that had this team moved onward, their chances with all these injuries would have been minimal at best to get into the Semi`s.

The early exit is no reason for Chia to blow it up, which I`d be shocked if he did, not really his style/approach.

It sucks, but I think the further away from this loss we get, we'll focus less on the disappointment and begin appreciating that the team has a nice, long summer to rest, heal up, and recover.

The more I think about a 100% healthy and rested rostor to start 2012-2013, the more excited I get.

It would be different if they hadn't won the cup last year, but they did. I think a more complete off-season this year is way more conducive to this team staying elite for the next 5-10 years than getting to the second round and getting run-over by a healthier, more rested team.

Tyler needs hand surgery.

Per Haggs: "Tyler Seguin had a tendon injury on his left hand middle finger that will require surgery. Suffered it in March vs Florida"

Lol looks like that drunk poster was right after all

Good on the kid for playing through that, that's rough. No wonder he was a bit off with his shots.

Health was out biggest friend last year, it caught up with us this year. Just happens

I highly doubt he had a separated shoulder. That's just not something you cant play with that soon. The pain and the risk of further injury is just too great

Ever heard of a nerve block?

You can most certainly play on a separated shoulder. Just ask Nathan Horton.

Lmao. To be fair, your post was clearly made while drunk, so it was rather difficult to know what you were talking about
