all of this is why I have a hard time criticizing NHL players, you never know who is playing hurt. (maybe the same goes for football players too)

now baseball players... wasnt there a pitcher this year who injured himself "toweling off too vigorously in the dugout between innings" or something?

You can most certainly play on a separated shoulder. Just ask Nathan Horton.
Then it would be a 1st degree separation. Which really isn't a separation at all. No ligament tear, no bone displacement. Don't really see that affecting his skating ability. Maybe it was a core injury like a torn rib cage muscle ala Joe Thornton several years ago

Your no dummy.

Edit:

Boston Bruins ‏ @NHLBruins

Chara had a broken nose. Good news was that Rask shouldn't need surgery. Seguin does. Expects full recoveries for McQuaid, Horton.^BISH

Surgery for Seguin;broken nose, strained oblique muscle for Bergeron

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/...s/bruins_blog/
Quote:
Patrice Bergeron played through a strained oblique muscle. Bergeron said he first felt the injury in Game 3. Bergeron aggravated the injury in Game 5, when he was limited to three third-period shifts.

Bergeron will not require surgery.

“It was probably 60 percent. I don’t know exactly. I’m not very good at that,” Bergeron said. “It was just hard to battle – reaching out and trying to battle when my arm was extended. I couldn’t get to full speed. It was always there.”

Bergeron had a scoring chance in overtime of Game 7. Based on replays, GM Peter Chiarelli believed that Bergeron’s injury prevented him from stretching out fully to pursue the puck.

Bergeron also had a broken nose.

* Tyler Seguin will most likely require surgery on his left hand. Seguin was injured on March 15 against Florida. Two days later, Seguin was a game-time decision against Philadelphia, but was able to play. Seguin said the injury didn’t affect his game too much.

We know where #37's broken nose came from.

Just assumed Chara's nose was broken, too. Both eyes black from the Chimera face shot. At some point this summer, it's going to hit Chimera that Chara may be lookin for pay back next year.

Is it bad I'm hoping we hear that Lucic was injured?

No injuries for Lucic, Krejci and Marchand. Much more disappointed in their play now, then at the end of the series, but the Caps deserve alot of the credit. Oh well, they will bring it next time.

No announcements doesn't always mean someone is perfectly healthy. But they're hockey players, so they won't say anything.

Good on the kid for playing through that, that's rough. No wonder he was a bit off with his shots.

Health was out biggest friend last year, it caught up with us this year. Just happens

Wow, this answers a lot. I kept asking myself - what happened to Seguin's laser beam.

Nearly 30 with a busted finger

They do. One thing that hasn't been discussed at all on this forum; was the fact they completely took away the B's forechecking game at times by just advancing the puck into the neutral zone, then dropping it back to their D in their own zone. Then, like the B's did to the lightning, were content to watch a one man forecheck accomplish nothing while they passed the puck around. They put them to sleep.

Easier to **** all over Lucic and some others.

Bottom line, I think these guys were just spent mentally and physically from winning the cup. It ain't baseball. I'll take that excuse b/c it's the first time I've heard it in 42 years as a B's fan.
