Are these rule changes really being reviewed? That would be good news if the prospects who are ready can play in the AHL.
Yes, last page of this months Hockey news has a pretty good (and fair) article about it, Steve Yzerman is leading the charge and I guess a few more are behind the scenes pushing for this, the CHL crowd will of course whine but in the end the NHL should win

Hope you're right and it happens. I did an article on it a few months back on why it should change. The only problem is that the NHL has a written agreement with the CHL on the matter that doesn't expire until 2015. Don't think they can change it unilaterally and would need to re-negotiate with the CHL

Dom--is the article on your web site? I'd like to read it.

Honestly if Bergeron is even remotely in any pain I would rather they rest him than play him and risk more injury. Would rather lose tonight than lose Bergeron for the season.

Ken Campbell wrote the article so I'm not sure how much homework he did on this subject but he leads me to believe the NHL could say at any point this is what we're going to do and if you don't like it go find another 10 million in development fees we give you somewhere else, I would hope after the Jared Knight fiasco earlier this year Boston would support this issue
Also--what is the complete list for the year? I'd really like to see something that includes anyone who has missed at least one game due to injury and notes indicating multiple periods out due to injury.

Then factor in your suspensions...
Rask - Groin
Savard - Post Concussion
Horton - Post Concussion
Bergeron -Lower body - day to day/game time decision tuesday. X-Rays were negative
Peverley- Knee
Paille - Upper Body
Pouliot - Day to day
Boychuk - Possible concussion, not expected to miss time
Mcquaid - Lower body (knee)
Ference- Back, but has a lower body issue
Sauve - Lower body
Khudobin - Wrist, and should be counted cause if healthy he would be up here
I remember earlier this year Marchy missed time with the Flu as well as a suspension, Looch missed time with a suspension. Thornton was sick at one point as well.

It would be a shorter list for the B's who aren't out or playing hurt.

Long list...
Also, Boychuck was just out with his concussion, Ference was suspended at one point, wasn't he? and I heard Chara was playing through a thumb problem. Wasn't Soup out for a minute or am I thinking of a different year?

Soup broke his foot blocking a shot. Missed a few games earlier this season.
Chara was out earlier with a knee (and the reality is he may be playing on an injured knee that will need work).
Campbell had the broken foot-but I don't remember when he was out-seems like it was in January.
Peverly was also out earlier in the year with the undisclosed injury that would nag him throughout the season (I am hoping the knee rehab allowed this time to heal as well and he will be ready to go fully).
Paille had a concussion earlier in they year.
Krejci also had that injury at the beginning of the season, but honestly up until Horton's concussion the injuries were one at a time and easily made up for with the depth.
Right now there are so many injuries the depth just isn't there anymore.

I have to say, as frustrating as the games have been to watch, I am more proud of this team than ever. Thinking about how tired they must be after such a long playoff grind last year--plus the short summer and all the extra attention, media commitments, and so on that come with it--and all of the injuries they've fought through (particularly this pile-up over the last month or two) ... add on to that the suspensions and the way it seems officials (and shanaban) have cracked-down on them, making it harder to play their physical style ...
It's kind of the perfect storm of adversity, and they are still #1 in their division. Considering all of that, it's tough to be too hard on this team. I love these guys.

Horton - don't know
Peverley - probably 2-4 more weeks
Ference & Paille are back
McQuaid -day to day
Sauve - unknown
Peverley hopefully at the lower end of that spectrum. Mcquaid is skating in practice today. Sauve is probably the season. He was on crutches leaving pitt and went right back to Boston. Barely played a second in the big club.
You know a team has a ton of injuries when a thread has been started about it, did a quick check of other teams (only hit 9 teams) not one has something like this, crazy the luck or bad luck of this team right now, Karma I suppose seeing how relatively healthy they stayed last year and right into the Finals
