I think that Montreal will draft 3rd overall and get either Grigorenko or Galchenyuk.
I think we win the lottery and draft #1 overall

You have a crystal ball for the NHL lottery results?

Does it work for Regular Lottery results too?

What are the winning numbers for Wednesday?

If he posts them to everyone on this board, there will be like 100,000 winning tickets printed and we'll all get about $500 each.

Not bad, but I'll still have to go to work next week.

Granted, staying in the top 5 to at least have a chance at Nail is important.
I don't know, all it takes really is Galchenyuk having good playoffs after coming back from injury and he could jump over Grigorenko as the consensus n.2 forward. Now if you keep this in consideration, you think that after Yakupov going 1st overall, 4 teams before us (say EDM,NYI,CAR and MIN) would either skip him or pick a Dman?

Why would you guy's want Malcolm Subban? We don't need him and I think having both brothers in the same city/team would be a mistake.

We need depth at centre and the wings, we also need size and grit.

We also need goalies in the system, right now we have nothing.

The priority is forwards, skill more than grit but both would be ideal. But they should be scouting goalies for one of their mid round picks, it's not good to have zero depth at goalie even if we do have Price.

Cowen dropped quite a bit after missing a good deal of his draft year to a ligament injury iirc.

With our 2nd rounder, what about taking Anton Slepyshev. He is projected to go at the beginning of the 2nd round, he is only 165lbs, but he is very skilled and could be good someday.

russian factor, he'll drop.

I'd take a risk on Gusev with our 2nd 2nd rounder though.

I did say Galchenyuk OR Forsberg, buddy.

Honestly, we can speculate as much as we want, but recently draft history shows us wild **** happens. Would you have believed Couturier would fall to 8th last year and Hamilton to 9th?

Did anyone see Fowler and Gormley falling into the teens?

The point is, #6 likely means 1 of Galchenyuk/Forsberg is available at that spot. If we pick 6th, chances are both the NYI and MIN are picking ahead of us, and both teams could very well go with a D, so could the Oilers. Only 2 of those teams would need to go with a defender for 1 of the 4 forwards to be there at #6.

I think MIN takes a forward if available. I do not know what to think about the top 3 forwards. Yakupov = head injury, Grigs = shoulder, Gal= knee. Obviously the less serious one is the shoulder but we never know.

And to the reports that say Grigs is alright with his shoulder, i find it hard to believe. In the newspaper Le Soleil, they we're saying he was hit shoulder to shoulder and stayed on the ice for a moment grabbing his arm. The team then said it was just a case of getting the air sucked out of him (perdu le souffle). It is really hard to believe he'd be grabbing his arm for a good moment and then all of a sudden, no injury. Plus, he left the game. He'll likely finish the year pretty banged up.

Yakupov is still the clear #1 but it will really come down to the CHL playoffs for Grigorenko and Galchenyuk. Another think to consider is that if Galchenyuk comes back totally healed from his knee injury, he'll be well rested and ready to deliver in the playoffs for Sarnia.

As per Sam Cosentino, Nail Yakupov will miss the rest of the regular season.

Can't say anything else than scary and shameful at the same time. I hope he gets back top shape for the playoffs.

I think the funniest part of this is that people think the sky is falling because Yakupov gets injured for possibly the latter part of the season, but Galchenyuk blowing out his knee is no big deal.

The rest of the regular season is only 3 games though, the season ends Sunday.

They've only put him out for 1 week

Nail Yakupov must have a pretty serious concussion if so. I know he has facial injuries, but we also knew he had a concussion. Too bad for Sarnia and Nail. Very upsetting for the habs in my opinion because now Galchenyuk will return as the #1 player for the Sting and if he plays well, it will catapult him to a guaranteed top 3 pick.

You pick BPA at ALL times unless you feel that a player can fill a need on ones roster right away. If Galchenyuk, Grigorenko and Nail are gone by our pick I am not opposed to selecting a defenseman.

Much better to pick another top 3 d-man than a top 9 forward

Murray, Dumba, Trouba,Reihart, Ceci >>> Gaunce, Faksa, Girgensons

You're right. This is why I think after Yakubov the following players all have equal chances and could go anywhere between 2 and 7. Some could even drop further.

Grigorenko
Galchenyuk
Forsberg
Dumba
Murray
Trouba
