Erik Condra is sneaky good

Hey all,

I came across a great article today about Erik Condra and his sneaky offense. Ever since he won the shootout competition at the Sens Skillz he is getting alot of media attention and it seems people are starting to take notice of his elite skillset. Here are some quotes from the article.

"We know the skills (Erik Condra) has and how good he is in tight, and he's got a real good stick ... He's a real smart player. He's got underrated skills and sneaky hands. He's a heck of a player." - Jason Spezza

"Gets around the rink real good" - Paul McClane

"Sometimes I make some sneaky moves" - Erik Condra (this one is my favorite)

Along with his elite level stamina, Erik Condra is quietly emerging as an elite sneaky offensive catalyst. I'm extremely excited to see what he brings in the second half of the season.

A bit too generous with the usage of 'elite', but the article describes him as quietly efficient which I think is pretty spot on. I've been really happy with he and Greening so far this season.

I love what he brings. He reminds me of Chris Kelly with a different skill set. Not sure what the ceiling is for this guy, but he keeps improving and we can plug him anywhere.

I had my doubts about the Greening and Condra signings, but both chip in here and there and bring more to the table then offensive production.

These players reflect what the new Sens are about: Speed, teamwork, versatility and doing what it takes.

Erik Condra is starting to become a breakout player, and if this keeps up then his future will be with the Senators.

Title of the thread should have been: "Erik Condra is sneaky good. Discuss."

That being said, I ddon't think his skillset is by any means elite, but he definitely gets the most out of what he has. He's got a long career as an NHLer ahead of him, and it's due to his amazing dedication and hockey smarts as much as it is about whatever natural hockey talent he possesses.

After watching Rick Condra on the Team 1200 last night...I tend to agree, that hockey player really is sneaky good, now if only the rest of the team had the same elite stamina as him....we'd probably win the Coupe Stanley sometime soon.

While I agree with this Condra has only another yr on his contract. The Sens have Silfverberg, Zibanejad & Stone coming next yr & all of them can also play RW & Noesen the yr after that. Plus Michalek, Butler & Neil play RW plus a couple of guys in Bingo. I think after next season he will have a tough time to keep his job & just might get traded at the deadline or the draft next yr. He's versatile & has become a PK expert but can he score consistently to beat out the new young guys who will be coming in the next few yrs.
