May they bore their way to success.

If we win (this afternoon..grrrr) we'll be 4 points back.

Many said he looked good. I thought he looked about as good as Caputi or Irwin or Hanson in their Leafs trials. In other words, not very good but he's only 20.

It sucks losing in the shootout. such a stupid way to lose a game.
Agreed. Though I thought it could've been 2 or 3-0.

I like how Healy criticized the Leafs early on for having only 2 shots, when the Flyers only had 3 or 4 themselves. Then they got the graphics team involved, saying that
the wrong people are taking the shots...Kulemin included. I was shocked, Galley was
positive towards us. How people can think (the on-air staff) HNIC loves the Leafs are way off.

I think many on HNIC are sensitive to the critics who claim that the programme is too Toronto centered so they react by being a little more critical to try and counter that criticism.

Only if he was on the Leafs. Otherwise he'd be a great player that the Leafs never drafted and the GM would be criticized for passing him up or not signing him to an offer sheet.

And then again, we have people that don't complain and are complacent with mediocre crap year after year.

What a bland, boring game, except for the 3rd period.

Don't lose sight of the big picture.

That's the conclusion I have for our fanbase.

Under Carlyle, we have won 1, tied 1 in regulation, and lost 2 games by a goal to 2 very strong teams in Pitt and Bost.

With the addition of the right personnel, Randy will get this team turned around. Going in the right direction.

Carlyle is working on the foundation.

"Outscoring their problems" doesn't eliminate the problems.

Not everyone was in love with how they were winning early this season and many brought up their concerns but there was probably an equal number saying things were fine and good, and it is the "youngest" team.

Leafs were beat in a shoot-out by one of the best offensive players in the league.

Carlyle has only had these guys a week, and I suspect we will continue to see adjustments in their game.

Along with the defensive play, he will have to rebuild the PP, and put some creative players out there.

Gus gets credit for not giving up a softie, a problem he has many games.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

If we get the players this is the system NY employs, Boston employs. They are not boring teams. I do like Ashton somewhat, strong on the boards. Need more players like him. As Carlyle said we need to be a team that is not only good on the rush but on the cycle. This is how the good teams play like Boston and NY. right direction.

No offense man, I honestly don't mean to be rude, but when we have to qualify things like tied 1 in regulation to make a coach in this case seem like he's getting the job done, it really exemplifies the problems with this fanbase.

This city is a loser sports town partially because we don't demand more. Look at this Burke situation, we have people calling him the best GM the Leafs have ever had when he hasn't gotten this team closer to jack****. The vast majority of posters voted no in the Fire Burke poll, a 3:1 ratio basically, because they legitimately believe that JFJ and Fletcher left Burke with little to nothing of value and therefore justifying the nonexistent improvement in the standings. On top of that, Burke has miscalculated the quality of his team every season he's been here without fail and yet so many don't even blink an eye or questions the guy.

I honestly cannot believe that some people legitimately think he is the best GM we've had when we've had guys like Quinn and Fletcher (first stint) who've gotten us further than Burke can even dream of doing at this point

For those hoping to tank to get a elite talent, may I remind you Claude Giroux was drafted 22nd overall.

I would, however, like to see Burke try to grab a couple 2013 1st round picks somehow to try to package them to move up in 2013. Nathan Mackinnon is going to be the real deal, baby.

Burke has strongly disappointed me this year, however I dont find complaining useless. Honestly us balling our eyes out won't amount to anything productive (maybe just pressure him into a 1st for veteran type deal). Burke is already trying, and he looks like he has aged 10 years in four and a half. For burke it is simple. PO's next year or you are fired, and he knows that.

As for something else I would like to touch up on, I think Quinn sucked as a GM. Took a young talented team, had unlimited spending power, no salary cap and couldnt win the cup. He was a disappointment, IMO.

My game comments:
I thought ashton played a lot like Colby Armstrong (without the pest qualities)
Gus played really well
Kulemin and Mac have 0 finish
the connolly-bozak-kessel line has to be the softest one I have ever seen
Komi has really turned it around
I hate seeing frattin on the fourth line
