I'll likely get flamed for this, but Shane Prince reminds me of Jason Pominville. Same size, skating is similar and both have good instincts in both ends of the rink (Prince needs to work a little on defensive skills).
Obviously it's unlikely that Prince will ever be as good as Pominville but I think that's his optimistic projection.
The second period Silfverberg did to Frölunda is one of the best I have ever seen in the top division for many years. Sure, it has passed a lot of good hockey players through our expansive country in recent years, but it was long since any controlled game on the way Jacob Silfverberg made yesterday. At times it seemed as if he did what he wanted on the ice.
Quote taken and translated from Uffe Bodin of HockeySverige.
Yea I could see that for sure. I liken him to a winger version of Pavelski my self. When I watch Prince for what ever reason I see a ton of little Joe. Both are solid 3 zone players, both have underrated speed and have great hockey IQ.
Silfverberg rounds a Frölunda Back and shoots completely oannnonserat. Difficult for Andersen who probably do not see much in that mode. But above all, really neat to play off the king Silfverberg. Which artist and FHC's slopes'll probably definitely dreaming nightmares about this guy.
I gotta say, I will be really, really disappointed if Silfveberg doesnt make an impact in the NHL. Of course I'd be very disappointed some of our others dont (Zibby and Lehner for sure), but I have tremendously high hopes for Silfverberg.
I have a a friend living over in Sweden right now who watches a pile of NHL and SEL, who is a leafs fan, and cant say enough good things about him. Far and away the MVP of the league in his opinion. Says he's going to step in next year and make a huge impact, would do anything to get him on the leafs.
This guy also consoled me when I was initially upset with the Karlsson pick , so Im extremely excited to see how it turns out with Jakob.
