What a beast he is.

1+2 (goal + assist)
6 shots on goal
+4 (on the ice 5 out of 5 goals, but 1 goal in power play)

so far..

And all that with a heavy golden helmet.

He is quite invisible, as the whole team. Much one man attacking when going forward from everyone, get over the redline, dump the puck into offensive zone and hope someone from DIF is there first, which they rarely are.

The press on Mika and the team is enormous, you can see that on the ice they are scared to death.

Team was expected to be a top 3 team by the experts before the season, now they are on their way out of SEL.

Noesen etc.

Looking at his stats alone, the guy seems to be on fire lately. JT Miller (15th overall) and Rickard Rakell (30th) are on the same team but not even close in terms of production. Is anybody watching Plymouth games? I check a few times a week and his production has been ridiculous in 2012.

Also, I'm pumped to get Wideman into our pro system. From what (little) I know, I think he could be a safe-playing, bottom pairing guy for us.

Not at all. The guy has gone down in production. Similar to Caporusso. Prepared to be disappointed.

Like I said...Silfverberg is going to come over in the playoffs for Ottawa and win the Conn Smythe before he wins the Calder next year.

Conn Smyth

I will be surprised if we see him before development or training camp. I sure hope he is as good in the NHL as he has been in this one past season in the SEL. I guess we'll have to wait to see but I don't expect the kind of impact you are suggesting from a 22 yr old Swedish rookie. Hopefully, he can have the kind of impact in Ottawa that Landeskog has had in Colorado.

Silfverberg played great, he has been on the ice for the last 9 goals Brynäs has scored and is the playoff leader in points (7) and in +/- (+7). He has not played in the NHL and expectations should not be too high, its always better to be surprised than disappointed. Anyway, here are the game highlights if anyone is interested:

I think this whole idea of silfverberg coming for the playoffs is unlikely, but it might actually work out.

In a lot of ways having him come jump into the team when they are playing well and have had the whole season to get used to the system might be a lot easier. He can just come over, know what his role is and see what happens. It's pretty low risk.

That's the amazing thing about this years team compared to last year - they are so well coached that young guys like JOB and Stinkhammer can jump in fairly easily

The other team seem to be pretty frustrated not being able to get the puck away from him, haha...

Too bad Ottawa didn't own the rights to Jarnkrok as well, those two are absolutely ridiculous together.

Turris for Jarnkrok straight up?

We could have had him if we hadn't traded for Sutton or Cullen.

So are they even gonna bother making Silfverberg play in the rookie tournament.

The worst thing they could do right now is make Silf think he is special or put him above the other prospects, I'm sure Noessen, Stone, Prince and Zibby will have something to say about what rookie is on the opening night roster - all are team leaders and Silf will have to be at his best just to be tops in this group of 5.

Silf at 50% is better than all of the guys listed right now. It's not even comparable.

That said I hope he still competes in the rookie tournament unless he comes over for the playoffs.
