It used to, and I've held the opinion for years that they should go back to ties.

The prospective deal to restructure the debt of the New Jersey Devils appears to have fallen apart, The Post has learned.

The bailout by a mystery investor, which seemed at hand just weeks ago and would have given owner Jeffrey Vanderbeek some breathing room to find a more permanent solution is off, a source close to the talks said yesterday.

The NHL wanted to review the deal and scared off the investor, sources said.

July 1 deadline to raise money and pay off lenders or the team defaults. The Devils free agents including Marty won't re-sign until the ownership situation is resolved. Would Brodeur play for another team if the situation is not resolved? Assuming Brodeur wants to play next season. Parise has been gone since last summer when he signed a 1 year deal. Lou won't negotiate under the season. Why wouldn't Parise wait until July? The NHL has advanced them $10 million to operate the team this season.

Roszival played over 25 mins last night for the Yotes and is the top pairing guy with Ekman-Larsson. The Wolski trade was terrible for us.

clearing out Rozsivals salary was important...what was there...1.2 mil price difference between the 2? helped us have the room to get richards, rupp, and opened up a spot for one of our young kids to flourish.

Having Rozy right now would be a godsend. He'd shore up the right side very well. Couldn't have been all that tough to keep him around with no Wolski and Avery in the minors. Oh well.

The NHL is finally waking up. It sounds to me like there is no need for Center Ice for the playoffs, as they will use NBC, NBC Sports, CNBC and NHLN to broadcast playoff games. All playoff games. Every single one.

The only downside is tjhat after Round 1, we're going to get stuck with Doc Emerick for the rest of the postseason. That blows. I am so sick of him it's not even funny.

The beauty of the 1994 Cup run was ESPN rode the rangers bandwagon and used their main team (Thorne and Clement) for most of those playoff games. Every rangers game was broadcast that postseason, but MSG allowed Sam and JD to do all four rounds as well.

I think it's a travesty to not have local broadcasts of playoff games, especially in the finals. It's a slap in the face. Luckily, Sam will probably do the entire postseason for NHL radio.

Expect the following teams:

Strader/Pang
Emerick/Olczyk
Forslund/Micheletti
Jackson/Jones
Peckham/Engblom
Foley/TBD
Daniels/TBD

You won't get very many people here to admit it, though.

Rozsival was a very good 2nd pairing defensemen who got overused here, so his deficiencies were apparent. Not really his fault.

We've been spoiled lately by the development of Girardi, McDonagh, Staal, and more recently the play of Del Zotto. Rozy was more at Stralman's level.

I still would love to hear Gary Thorne call some NHL games.

And I also agree that it is a travesty not having local broadcasters be able to call their team's games.

Yep. Absolute travesty fans can't hear their own guys do playoff games.

I'd murder to have Sam and Joe to listen to over ****ing Doc.

Doc was unique and fun in the 1980s when he did Flyers games. Then he went over to MSG Radio and was a nice alternative to Marv Albert's boring style.

But his out-of-control, frantic, last-gasp treatment of every single play is old and tired.

Hopefully the Rangers play Florida or Ottawa in Round 2 and the Pens play the Caps. That will definitely keep Doc and Eddie Doh away from the Rangers.

Also, no MSG in the playoffs means no interviews in Al's Magical Studio.

Does this mean some Ranger playoff games will be exclusively on the NHLN? I don't get NHLN and a neither do a lot of other people. It's not part of the basic cable package.

Im going to guess that since the NY market will draw the highest ratings, they will have all weekend games on NBC main and all night games on NBC Sports.

Ratner interviewed by Howie. Said he "would love to have the Isles at the Barclay's Center". Hope it happens. Said he would "love for the Islanders to move to Brooklyn".

Also said Barclay's would be ready for hockey, 14,000-15,000 for hockey.

Isles havent drawn 14,000 in years

3-0 Flyers.

Isles have completely mailed in the season and will be drafting in the top-5 again.

What a joke.

Thomas is sucking it up again lol.

The bruins pulling a red sox is a real possibility now with their goaltending issues
