We totally should have taken the first rounders for kulemin and macarthur. Grabo and schenn can stay, but wow 3 firsts would be look pretty good especially since one is gunna be top5. bring up ashton, kadri, and frattin and you got replacements.

The East is so crappy this year with only a sliver of quality play and ability to hold it together post all star break we woulda been in the playoffs easily. Just hilarious stuff.

At this point, they're just auditioning guys and evaluating what needs to be done in the offseason, I imagine. Gustavsson looks like he's being tested out to see if he should get a new contract.

Leafs need to go 8-4-1 just to match last years total of 85 points.

I think this is exactly what they should be doing. Practicing responsible D systems while tanking, great way to get a new system going and a good draft pick.

I'm guessing Mac and Kulemin still carry some value. I wouldn't trade Kulemin just yet because he'll probably bounce back like Alex Steen did, but Mac isn't that useful so I have no qualms with letting him go...

We have no size and grit in the top 6.

Well, kulemin is starting to hit more, which is nice. We've got some prospects up - frattin and ashton - who have some jam, but are not top 6 guys. At least not yet. Same with some prospects still in the AHL.

Without getting lucky with some big trades or signings, we'll probably have more of the same next year.

Gus is looking good at least, and the team is better defensively, but it will all be for not if the players we have are not capable of scoring unless they throw defense to the wind.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS = WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW. Even Columbus fights for points.

This is exactly what I think is happening. I'm sure Burke was hoping to catch lightning in a bottle to salvage the season, but it's all about what you said at this point.

good point, we delayed our massive disappointment by a few months

Would you be comfortable going into next season with the same goaltending tandem? Because I wouldn't be.
