Well, kulemin is starting to hit more, which is nice. We've got some prospects up - frattin and ashton - who have some jam, but are not top 6 guys. At least not yet. Same with some prospects still in the AHL.

Without getting lucky with some big trades or signings, we'll probably have more of the same next year.

Gus is looking good at least, and the team is better defensively, but it will all be for not if the players we have are not capable of scoring unless they throw defense to the wind.
If we're gonna come back next season with this pathetic lineup we will have the 1st overall pick in the 2013 enrty draft.

For the most part we had an enjoyable season to watch which saved us all of a crappy long winter. This way, we can see what the team is capable of doing for long stretches and we cash in on a better pick to possibly make up for the loss of a Hamilton or Seguin. This way allows Toronto to potentially add to that foundation before they start climbing the charts. Could be a blessing in disguise, sort of like the 1994 Nordiques.

Since the All-star break no team has recorded less wins than the Leafs with 5, ranking them 30th.

If that's the case, then Burke shouldn't be the GM during that draft.

Well they have a pretty good cushion. Let them get to within a point of 2nd last and we'll see what happens

I think Frattin has a chance to become a top 6 winger in Carlyle's system. Carlyle has also shown great confidence in Ashton so far in the games he's been brought up. I'm sure at training camp next year Carlyle will love other prospects in the system too which match his style.

To get something good out of an awful season. A top draft pick.

If we hopefully land Galchenyuk does anyone know if he's NHL ready or will he need to develop a couple of years?

i think he certainly deserves a new contract after the way hes played through out the season and even last 4 starts, apart from the goal he let in against the pens, hes looked solid, you couldnt pin any of the losses on him, but i doubt he'll resign here

This is really frustrating. I wonder how many years of no playoffs will be the breaking point for Leafs fans.

Out of curiosity, if the Leafs don't make the playoffs for say the next five years and a team is relocated to Hamilton at that point, would anyone consider dropping the Leafs and becoming a Hamilton fan?

I don't think he's that much of a hot commodity in the NHL that he would be in a better position than Toronto. If he has a decent stretch to finish the season, I'm sure he'll get another shot. I don't think Reimer is NHL starter material, he's got too many limitations to his game which seem to be athletic issues.

lol, this was one of the mildest winters on record for Toronto. Extremely mild.

Kind of like the Leafs; mild, lacking truculence, easy to handle, came in like a lamb and wimpered out like a wounded bunny.

Leafs won like 2 games in their last 16, and they got a really good chance now to get a top 5 pick. Much better than being 9 or 10th place. Playoffs are so slim at this point.
