I don't think you can have the same tandem next season. I am still not entirely sold on Gus as a true #1 either.

Wow... I've NEVER been in favor of a tank, but SERIOUSLY BRING ON THE TANK, IF IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET A WINNER IN THE FUTURE, I AM COMPLETELY IN FAVOR OF IT NOW.

sometimes i wonder will i ever witness the leafs to be a dominant like boston, vancouver, penguins or even detroit, who are always a lock for the playoffs, since the lockout all the teams have a bad season or two but they made the playoffs, if the cats make the playoffs that would leave us the only team not to make it 8 effin years, the alarming thing is even the stats are against us, we have seem to gotten worse every season since the lockout

I just think Reimer is worse, and wouldn't give up the better goalie to accommodate him. IMO, he should audition for a backup role next year and not be penciled in for job automatically. It was very worrisome just watching him let in goals that shouldn't beat NHL calibre goalies on a nightly basis.

I continue to like that we're finally playing good defense, the offense will come around eventually. Obviously under a defensive system we won't score like we used to, we relied A LOT on run and gun and risk taking to really inflate our scoring, but we'll learn to score in this system eventually. Ultimately we were never going anywhere as the worst defensive team in the league year after year, this is a necessary change, even if the stats of Kessel, Lupul, etc. won't look as pretty.

Tank nation <3. Am I the only one who really wants to see a 3rd line of kadri-galchenyuk-frattin. I know gallys coming of an injury but still that looks good.

It's a cyclical sport, unfortunately the Leafs non-playoffs cycle seems to be ultra long this time. Personally, as a fan, I've seen the ugly days of the late 80s/early 90s, the highs of the 1992-1994 teams, the lows of the 1995-1998 teams, the fun times watching the 1999-2003 teams and now the really low points of the last 9 years.

Boston, Vancouver and Pittsburgh were by no means always dominant locks for playoffs. Only Detroit has been since Illitch took over and before then, they had some really low years.

Our time will come again, but it might take a huge kick in the ass of management to do it.

I am hoping Kessel gets to 40. I am worried he won't get to it under this system.

I know this might be a stretch but wasn't this after he got stoned on the breakaway. I think it was actually an involuntary embarassment reaction when he got back to the bench. He seems a shy guy at the best of times so I think he was really down on himself.
