I see it happening the same way, except he wont get 9 games because he is AHL eligible.
That's why I don't see him making the team out of camp. They can bring him him and down at will so no need to force ay games at the beginning of the year. I do think he may get an injury call up if he is playing reasonably well.
I think that Palmieri has the best chance at starting in NHL. He did so well this season so I'll be a bit dissapointed if he has to go back to AHL. Holland, Vatanen and Etem are wild cards IMO. Holland was ok in the few games he played with the Ducks and he should be ready physically. Vatanen has a lot of experience in playing against men but he hasn't played a lot in smaller rinks and he might need to gain some muscle and time in AHL, unless he can manage in NHL with his skills. Etem has skill and size but needs to change his game a bit. In my mind, Etem has the smallest chance at getting to NHL right away.

This.
Holland could see some 4th line time, since Getz, Boner and Koivu are all in front of Holland in our depth chart. But i hope we will sign veteran 4th line center.
And i believe that Vatanen and Etem will have to adjust more than most of us think. But they will get their chances with the Ducks in the season eventually.
I don't know if it was mentioned or not but I was reading more quotes from the select a seat on the Ducks website and Murray said it was top 6 or bust for Etem, he wouldn't keep him around in a bottom 6 role.
He was also quoted saying that he didn't want to add in many more than one young player to start the year. Which is pretty vague but I take it to mean only one of Holland/Palmieri/Etem will be on the team to start the year.

I'm not sure that adding more than Palmieri is a good idea at this point. That said, I'm sure that Holland and Etem will get a fair shot.
I really think Holland forces them to put him on the team. He lit it up last year in camp and he got so much better as the AHL season went on. I see him forcing their hand.

Looks like he always tends to light it up at 2nd half of season. Perfect match for Ducks
i hope so, i really liked the game i saw from holland when he was up.
I`d like him to, but i rather sign some veteran ccenterman for 4th line who can win FO`s. Another year in AHL wouldn`t hurt Holly. Veteran 4th line C who can win FO`s and kill penalties would be awesome for us. Right now Getz and Koivu (most likely our top 2 centers) as our PK`ers would really hurt imo.

It will be between Holland and Bonino IMO. One will be the center with Ryan. If its Holland, Bonino can center the fourth line. If not, then it will probably be a guy like
Pelley or a UFA in that mold.

Didn`t Murray said at some point that we won resign Pelley? Not sure though.
Imo at this point Bonino>Holland. Many illusions that Holly will continue his great play he started in Syracuse in 2nd part of the season last year. Well, i doubt that, at least not in the begining.
Boner proved that he can play. Not sure who we will sign this offseason, but if Ryan-Boner-KP line can show what they showed (if they`ll be on one line) at some points in last season, that`d be our 2nd line imo.
That line would give us more depth, since we still have Getz and Perry, and Koivu on different lines. That`d work well with Boudreau.
On Holland, it`s all up to him, ofcourse, but he`d only benefit from another year in AHL to mature and round out his game. Does he plays in PK in AHL? Well, he could do that with his size. He could also work on his FO`s, which are brutal on our team.
We'll see what happens in training camp. Although I think Bonino should make the team somehow. He made huge strides last year.
The good thing about Bonino is that his game translates anywhere from the second line to the fourth line. So worst case I think he will be our fourth line center, if we trade for someone, or he gets beat out by Holland.
I keep seeing people putting Bonino on the 4th line. He had some real good chemistry last year with Bobby and DSP/Palmieri. Going to camp, that job is his to lose. I'm not saying it can't happen, but if he ends up on the 4th line it's not going to be a good sign for the team. If a rookie at camp takes that job away from him it will be because he regressed. Not because a good rookie performance in camp is worth more than a half season of success in the NHL.
If we can find a good 4th line C (big-FO's-defensive), I'd say that's a good balance between 4 lines.
I was about to agree but... wait, what`s the left ''P'' on first line? Penner? Forget about it. He will either resign with LA or with another team that`ll overpay him.
Etem would be perfect for that line, but not now. I just don`t believe that WHL player (yeah, he dominated, i know) can step in on a line with Getz and Perry just like that.
What about Whitney? I`d like him with our twins. On that line, i`d take no matter that he`s undersized. But i have the feeling he`d be either to pricefull for us or he`ll stay in Phoenix, who just got their PD title.

Cogliano won't be in the top 9 over Smith-Pelley. Also, Murray also implied at the select a seat that the lineup we have at the moment isn't good enough and that changes would be made, that roster doens't look all that different from last season. Although we've heard him identify needs before and not address them.
I really think Vatanen is going to get a good look. Top defender in the SM-Liga...no reason why he can't take Brookbank's spot.

Well we are trying to roll 4 lines. I mean it's about ****ing time, I've been calling for it since 09. That's the way team's succeed in this NHL.

I agree, and I think that's why we won't see another 2nd line centre brought in. I think Boner will start on a "2b" sort of line possibly with Ryan. That line could become the "2a" line at some point during the season, and sort of take over for Koivu's line.

Agreed about the 4 lines. But I don't think anybody would consider the 3rd and 4th equal. Gotta' expect more offense out of the third and really think Bonino is up to the task. If he ends up on the 4th, he could still help but as I said earlier I think it would be a disappointment for him and the team.
