O`Brien with only 1 hit tonight But i wonder if the hits stats are relevant in QMJHL. It shows that team overall hits were 8 to 5. There`s obviously something wrong (huh). But, well, ussually O`Brien at least was the biggest hitter in every game.

He also got +2 rating and asisted on empty netter to win the game 4:2 agains Voltigeurs.

Was O'Brien the guy that people were raving about at prospect camp? I should break down and watch one of his games to get some idea of how he plays.

Yeah, i think he got pretty good reports.

And as far as i can get from the stats, he`s a physical threat who can play PK and cruical minutes.

5 games (1+2), +4, 18 PIM and tons of hits (QMJHL are not tracking overall hits). Pretty nice so far.

So they track hits on a game by game basis but don't bother totaling them up, that seems kinda lazy to me lol. Good to hear he's doing well on the stat sheet so far this season.

You guys should probably check out the highlights from Plymouth's game against Sudbury:
http://www.plymouthwhalers.com
I've only seen the first goal - watching the full game, but it's a good one.

Edit: Just saw the second goal. It was on a short-handed breakaway; something he's had in every Whalers game I've seen this year.

Rakell is a total stud of a player he reminds me of Zetterberg, or a Pahlsson but with offensive ability

He also has a tool kit that lends itself to quick promotion. If he ends up in Norfolk at some point, I wouldn't expect it to be a long stay.

There's a clip in the Belleville/ Plymouth highlights that really shows Rakell's physical dominance. He intercepts a pass inside his own blue line, beats Bulls OA d-man Stephen Silas in a footrace for the puck and then carries him on his back to the net for a good chance on the backhand. Rakell then gets a second chance on the rebound while falling to his back, really impressive play. It starts at about the 1:30 mark of the highlight package, which should be on both team's homepages and the OHL main site.

Missing some prospects. The ones we acquired through trade and what not.

Like that little section. One part makes me happy. Kyle Palmieri's best AHL season vs Bobby Ryan's

I recall we had someone on this board that would list all of our prospects in a nice and tidy chart. Too tired to look right now it's almost 1 am here. If I remember, I'll try to look for that person/chart myself.

Do we have any prospects eligible for the World Juniors later this year? Lindholm and Kerdiles perhaps? Rakell and Karlsson should be key players for Sweden. Friberg is too old.

Roy. But he`ll most likely sit. But, well who knows how things works out.
Everyone from this draft, exept Andersen, are eligible. Also some from last draft. How about Gibson?

PS
perry2perry Lindholm is not a lock if he`ll play in Norfolk. He`d most likely crack the lineup but i doubt Norfolk lets him go.

Another interesting facts: these seasons were both 3d seasons after the draft. If you compare their first WJC after the draft, Bobby have 7P in 7G, while Palmieri 9P in 7G. Next year Palmieri had 6P in 6G, while Bobby didn`t participate in any other WJC.
In their best (current) AHL seasons they also spent some games in NHL. Bobby got 10P in 23G while Kyle got 7P in 18G. The next season Bobby got 19P in 14 AHL games, and never looked back. Let`s see how Kyle does this season in AHL.

These stats are scarry similar

When we let DSP go to the WJC (and get injured) last year, I can't see why Lindholm shouldn't get his chance as well.

It was only because we were almost lost a chance to participate in playoffs. I cant see any other reason. Because he really really wanted to participate and represent his country? ... yeah, sure, how sweet! If we`d have 10 points more at the time, i bet he wouldn`t be released. Also he was sent to get his confidence back.

Hopefully Admirals and Lindholm plays well

Hope to see as many Ducks in WJC as possible. If it turns out to be a full season lockout, the juniors will be this seasons highlight for sure.
