He still gets a lot of praise from the announcers though. He hasn't looked any worse recently than earlier in the season, so the points will come. Noteworthy stats that aren't as apparent on the scoresheet, Karlsson is the teams 2nd best faceoff man at 52.3%. He also a +5 on the season, and has only been on the ice for two goals against (5 on 5) in 13 games so far. Guys like Marcus Nilson and Jason Krog has been on the ice for 5, Rhett Rakhshani for 6 and Johan Davidsson for 10, to name a few. And he isn't sheltered either. Quite the opposite really. He and his linemate Patrik Carlsson has formed a nice checking duo early in the season.
Andy Welinski has a goal in 2 games the kid has a top release i think he could be a very good mobile D man very a fantastic shoot be great for bottom 4 or good foil for another dman maybe
Do you have any info on when Kerdiles decides to stay or leave? Thx in advance.
He's staying. At least that's what Bob McKenzie and that Wisconsin beat writer tweeted.
Well I'm irritated. I don't think he's going to do what Wagner did and leave the NCAA after one year. I think we're going to have to wait quite a long time to see Kerdiles in a Ducks jersey.
Was curious to see what everyone's thoughts were on Etem so far? I haven't watched any of the Norfolk games other than the highlights. However, I have heard he has been pretty invisible. Why is that? It sounds like he is on the 3rd line. Is that correct?
Again, I have not watched any of the games, but I am thinking maybe throwing him up with Holland and Palmieri would really help him get some points and gain confidence. The guy must feel pretty bad right now with 0 points through the first 4 games. He is so used to tearing it up in the WHL. I am sure he will bounce back fairly soon, but how has his play looked?

Doesn't matter what line he's on. He's not doing enough. He's...there. He isn't chasing the puck. He isn't applying forechecking pressure. Forget being of any use in the defensive zone. I'm serious. I was one of his biggest supporters. He's been a let-down thus far. If he wants to play with the new twins, he has to earn it. He hasn't earned it at all. It's almost like he's waiting for the puck to bounce to him or get passed to.
The confidence point might be true, but generally speaking you earn your ice time, and a spot with the top O players on a team... and Etem just hasn't done that. It's not like this is the NHL either, as the AHL is usually where you send a young player when confidence is an issue.
Etem has looked, well, not very good. It's not as bad as it sounds though. This is a player who dominated the WHL, because he was bigger, stronger, and faster. I'm starting to sound like a broken record on this, but he's still playing a Junior game at the Professional level. We're only a week or so into the season, and Etem has some changes to make, and that's going to take time. Give it time. He'll adjust.
I seem to think Etem has a history of slow adjustment periods. NTDP, going into WHL, at various juniors tournaments, etc. Then once he adjust he starts to tear it up. So this would just be par for the course.
