Why Stu Bickel and not Tim Erixon?

Give me any reason why timmy isnt up here and the Pylon is still playing regular minutes on D.

Bickel has done his job. If anything Erixon over the Stralman and Emingers? That's about it though.

Stralman has had an awful week, even with his goal vs Boston. Need MDZ healthy to get Eminger off the ice. I think Stu has gotten better, but if they think Erixon is ready, he should be up. Guess they don't think he is ready.

Worst part is bickel was dragging staal down with him. Think about that he went from Dan Girardi as a partner to... Stu Bickel.

Erixon had another good game for the Whale today, and got another point.
Got hit in the head by a slapshot also, but thankfully it caught him in the visor.

I dont see why not try him. The way some of our D has looked lately... Cant get all that much worse

Edit: He actually got two points in this game

I used to be against bringing Erixon up for this season, but he would definitely help.

Stu Bickel has played his ass off this season. Not the most talented player but he comes to play every night!

I am not sure if he helps. He was getting thrown around like a rag doll earlier in the season. The kid needs to get a little big stronger and bigger. MDZ needs to get back fast though however.

Yes, nevermind the fact that Bickel has only been on the ice for 3 goals against in what, 23 games?

Did you watch Erixon at all when he was up with the Rangers? He was just trying to survive his shifts out there, scrambling a lot, looked out of place. I know he's supposedly shored up his game in the AHL but if you're looking for Erixon to provide better defensive depth at this point, don't count on it.

When he first came up, I had no confidence whatsoever in Bickel but he's been fine. Very safe, very composed. Far exceeding expectations and outplaying Eminger and Stralman right now. And he's not dragging Staal down. Staal is still struggling.

Bickel has played well recently. I was wrong about him.

I'd rather have Erixon over Eminger at this point though. And waive Woywitka already.

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Bickel
Del Zotto-Erixon
Eminger

Obviously someone is gonna have to play their off-side but it's probably worth it.

Edit: Wow, I actually forgot Stralman. Enough said.

I for one think Bickel has been playing fine and making safe defensive plays. I'd stick with him over Eminger any day. The kid plays his heart out.

Bring up Erixon. Can't be any worse than Eminger, Stralman or Bickel.

Bickel's been fine IMO. Stralman/Eminger however, haven't.

Keep in mind, that the most likely suspect will always be a defenseman.

Team's in first. Likely favorite to come out of the East (doesn't mean they will) and some fans have issues with number 6 defensemen. Good stuff.

Bickel been fine . As for favorites coming out if the East it's safe to say Pitt has usurped us in that regard . Pitt has it all , major depth at C , Neal scoring at wing , and role players that actually contribute offensively .
NYR having a respectable season but the cream is rising to the top at the time that counts

I wonder what PITT fans were saying when their team lost 7 straight.

Jesus some Rangers fans eat rocks for lunch.

Bickel has played well, especially last night. I think I saw one mistake early on and then thought to myself he is playing well.

There are couple of others that were awful but I guess if you want a scape goat you can find one anywhere.

For that matter, why is John Scott lumbering around the ice doing nothing? Isn't there anyone on the Whale(e.g. Zuke,Newbury) that can help this team more?????

Scott has been brutal. I wonder why Sather didnt get Commodore who was dealt for a 7th round pick ?? fact is Sather paid more for Scott Bickel has been fine.. does his job and always there to defend a teammate or spark the team.. rather have him than Eminger...i dont mind Stralman yea he hasnt played well as of late but has some offensive skill.

I was going to respond but then realized I could look up the answer.

If Crosby comes back, that tilts the wheel to Pitt.
