Former Edmonton Oilers pugilist Steve MacIntyre is now a forward for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL. According to the announcers in the following clip, from the Penguins' 4-3 victory over the Springfield Falcons on Sunday, he's also lost his marbles and should be in handcuffs.
Here's MacIntyre, earning himself a match penalty in pummeling Falcons goalie Paul Dainton —
He's played his last game under an NHL or AHL contract.
I'd say he's played his last professional game, but one of he'll be quite the skill player in the Quebec Senior League.

I've seen it, and I've seen things 100 times worse in the AHL. He'll probably get suspended for a couple of games but its not a major deal, in my opinion. JB barely gave it a mention in his game report in the Wilkes-Barre papers.
The guy didn't exactly look all there to begin with. Which, granted, is a quality you want in guys who just get their heads beat in for money, but it does have its particular limitations.
Also, what clefty said. It's no McSorely on Brashear for that matter.
And people will still argue we need someone like him, just not exactly like him.
Thankfully, the days of the big, useless, retarded oaf enforcers are coming to an end. Guys like Engelland and Asham, that can play and fight if they have to, are forcing them out of the league. If there's one thing about Shero I really don't care for, it's his adherence to the antiquated notion of needing an "enforcer".
I still want to see what the goalie did. I find it hard to believe Mac would go berserk on a goalie for no reason at all or just some chirping. Maybe the goalie made a "yer mom" joke.
Guys have been ducking him all year, even idiots like Gillies. He probably sees his livelihood slipping away and just reached the breaking point after being turned down again and seeing his potential opponent fight Walker instead. He's part of a dying breed for sure, it has to be a strange situation to be in.
I don't know if he's done or not, though, I mean, Jesse Boulerice has had half a dozen melt downs and he still stuck around for a while. He'll probably never touch NHL ice again, though.
Stuff like this, as Clefty said, isn't that out of the ordinary for the AHL.

Yeah I wonder about it too. I mean I'm not defending what he did, but it does seem bizarre for him to go from "fighter that never fights" in Pittsburgh, to absolute madman in Wilkes-Barre. I don't know much about MacIntyre, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a history of stuff like this.
It's the AHL. I am not gonna take the moral high ground here. I found it quite entertaining. Nobody got hurt. Sometimes you just sit back and enjoy insanity!
Second Period: Dainton made a pad save on a Craig shot, Jason Williams rebound. Joey Mormina took an interference penalty and Alex Giroux wasted no time in evening the score at two. Then, for some reason, Bill Guerin (yes, THAT Bill Guerin) got ejected for arguing a call.
So as a player development coach, Guerin is also behind the bench?

This might not even make the top 10 in crazy incidents for Wilkes-Barre alone. A team whose former members include Billy Tibbetts, Darcy Verot, Jason MacDonald, Brendan Walsh and Steve Parsons, who fought like four guys in one 'shift' while shirtless in a St.Patrick's Day game.
